"Huh? Breath of the Wild Link, Inklings, Silhouettes? Something tells me I missed something here.."
Edit: HOLY RAVIOLI! THATSA SPICY FEATURE!!! THANK YOU, SBA AMINO!
Salutations, SBA! Tempo the Bootleg D3 Main back with more posts that for some reason get less likes than the clips I !
So, the topic at hand, which if you haven't already guessed considering it's the only thing everybody's talking about at the moment, Smash is coming to Switch! Now, personally, I doubted they would make one because of there being one on every console on a row, minus the Nintendo 3DS.
I've seen lots of people talking about the Inklings, and Link's new appearance, but no one seems to have talked about Mario. So, in celebration of Mar-10 Day, I'm gonna give my thoughts on a possible update to one of Smash's oldest Allstars.
Ready? Here we go!!!

Do I Really
Still need this?
Just read the post..
Dangit!!
For Starters, let's talk about some potential moves that originated from the spin off that NOBODY expected, but everybody loved! (At least I loved it...)

Mario + Rabids Kingdom Battle has Mario taking on an entirely new combat style. Welding a gun, ducking for cover, managing boosts and items, it was crazy! I see great potential for possible moves and new mechanics!
[●○Guns○●]
First and most obvious.. the gun! I feel like this would be a great Neutral-B to replace fireballs, if not at least a custom move. I imagine it doing more damage than a normal fireball. Maybe around 15-17% At the cost of lots of lag when pulling the gun out in a similar fashion to how he did it in the game. This would be an excellent tool for sniping foes off-stage, since using the move on stage could cost you to get punished.
[●○Foe Stomping○●]
Okay, this one doesn't necessarily originate from M+RKB, but it was a mechanic in that game so that's good enough to classify it under this category. Plus, I honestly find it kinda stupid this already isn't a thing... Jumping on your foes head should inflict damage, as well as give you some boost in height. Damage would be around 5-7% Depending on rage or not. No, it wouldn't be a OHKO because that would be to broken. Besides, footstool combos are meant to be stylish, and with additional damage for Mario's footstool, easier!
■■~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~■■
Now for the game that I am still yet to finish, because my only experience of it is from temporarily playing it on a friend's console.

Yep! It's time to do the Odyssey once again! Super Mario Odyssey explored so many new movement options that would be perfect for brushing up the plumbers means of traveling on the field of battle! (As well as some astounding outfits that oughta astonish anyone who ires new alterations to attire.) [+500 Alliteration]
[●○Roll○●]
Now this could be taken in two different directions, but entirely possible for either option to be added. Odyssey gave Mario the ability to roll around at the speed of sound at his own leisure. I can see this being used as both a new attack, or a new roll. The roll for dodging being pretty obvious as to what it would do, so I'm gonna cut to the attack.
Mario's Roll would fit best to replace his D-Tilt in my opinion. Upon executing, Mario will curl up and lunge forward at his opponent. This would do 5-12%, plus small knockback so the foe gets knocked into another roll. I know that seems like alot, but in Odyssey Mario would gain more and more speed when rolls were performed in well timed succession. Since speed isn't much of a necessity in Smash, additional damage would do nicely if foes got caught into multiple hits.
[○●Alternate Costumes●○ ]
Along with improved movement, Mario Odyssey brings a TON of outfits for our plumber to don during his adventure. While not ALL off them can make it in, I've arranged a list of the costumes I would like to see make it. This is just my opinion.
Normal Colors, Top Hat and Tux, DonkeyKong Colors, Hipster Clothes from the Japanese commercials, Golf Getup with a changed hat, Chef Outfit, Artist Outfit, and 7 GrandDad.. nah JK, it'd probably be Sunshine Shades and Shirt.
[●○Conclusion?○●]
"Welp, I think that about covers all there is to talk about for possible changes that will be made to Ma-.."

"Ah, yes! How could I be so forgetful!? The entire reason Odyssey could happen in the first place!"
[○●CAPPY○●]
Mario's brand new partner in time! I'll let you decide if that's a reference to M&L:PIT or A Hat in Time... Anyways, Cappy puts a lot of ideas on the table. Offense, Recovery, and possible dialogue Easter eggs similar to Palutena! I could go on! As for this blog, I will discuss offensive CAP-abilities and recovery options as well. Dialogue Easter Eggs might be a separate post... Lemme know if you'd like to see that.

[○●Cappy Toss●○]
For offense, I would replace Mario's Side-B. His Side-B would have Mario give Cappy a swift toss in the direction he's facing. Cappy would go a short distance and stay there for a brief period of time before returning to Mario. Cappy would also return to Mario when coming into with an opponent, or items such as barrels and crates. Damage would be less than the gun, so maybe about 7-10%. Now, because the gun exists, and Cappy would have shorter range, this would SEEM useless. But that's where his option for recovery comes into play!
[○●Dive Maneuver●○]
Once Cappy has been thrown out, Mario's Side-B would then be replaced with a dive move. If Cappy is dived on, Mario would Gain a short boost in height and gain more horizontal distance. This could be done twice, but the second time would not give Mario the boost, similar to how it worked in Odyssey. Plus as an added bonus for Smash, Mario's dive could also have a roaming hot box that ends when he jumps off Cappy or hits the ground. Improving Mario's sideways recovery, but trading off the infamous cape.
[○●Item Interaction●○]
To finish up Cappy's uses, he would be able to retrieve certain items when tossed at. Items like Food, Swords, and Throwables would be snatched and brought to Mario. While items like Barrels, Party Balls, and Crates would all act as if they had been hit. Items like Timers and Lightning, which are used automatically upon , would still retain this behaviour when being touched by Cappy.
[○●ACTUAL Conclusion●○]
"Okay, for real this time. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog! I think I covered about everything there would be to cover. Lemme know what you guys think and give me some feed back about your thoughts of changing up Mario for the switch to the... well.... Switch...
Anyways, Seeya Next Time, and HAPPY MAR-10 DAY!!!

So how to do do the Cappy call outs for smash because I want to try it out?
Before I seen this earlier I was thinking about how Cappy would replace the side special and side taunt. I think a lot of people thought I was copying you.... Got no reactions. :p Just gonna delete it.
I'm down for thus idea but you gotta keep the forward air
Guns? You mean this?
What if cappy eyes were closed :eyes:
