Hey my peeps, Jose here again with another blog that isn't a "one move analysis" thing that im oh so good at.

(I'll get to another one of those soon ;))) )

This time around, I'm gonna dive into the topic of the One Man Army Titles.

Well, what about it? It seems like many peeps on this Amino believe that OMA is free, or dumb, or just pointless to try and take a title. Is this true? Is pursuing an OMA title worth the trouble?

Disclaimer: If you came to hear me talk shit about anyone you are mistaken :p

Smaller Disclaimer: All pics here I found on google and then used the Legend app to stylize them :pp

~I'll make this brief, for those who don't know what an OMA is~

What is an OMA title?

~ OMA = One Man Army (3ds Only)

~ Titles are character Specific

~ You can only test for a title once per day

~ Same goes for Title Matches

~ Rules are, 8 minute 3 stock matches in a best of 5. Only legal stages are the omega ones from your characters game origin. (Marth plays on omega Arena Ferox for instance)

~A title generally looks like this:

♢♤OneCharizardArmy♤♢

Obviously, instead of "Charizard" it can be any playable character in smash 4.

+ Pursuing an OMA title can be quite beneficial. You can gauge your skill cap in a ditto with someone else, and see what you can learn or see whats effective.

+ You can show off your fundamentals. This includes your knowledge of your character, how you use them, what mindgames you play, how you can adapt, etc.

- In the end, you are playing a ditto for this title. You may know more about the character than your opponent, but they might've had more experience in the ditto than you. This can allow them to win the match without them actually being better.

+ This can be an efficient way to gather new knowledge of the ditto as well as to learn new things about your character.

+ If you come across a better player thats able to take the title, you can feel free to record the matches to study them!

Quote from Neith~

- Its...still just the ditto. Theoretically, playing the ditto grants you exp. in one matchup with one person in two matches, but a random person playing two random characters can grant you exp. in two matchups. Therefore, it's theoretically better to play someone who won't ditto you (when in need of matchup experience).

OMA... Is it worth?-Hey my peeps, Jose here again with another blog that isn't a

+ As mentioned before, you can get some experience in the ditto! All dittos go 50/50 on the matchup spread (obviously) but you can still learn about different ways your own character can approach and such.

- Some dittos are obnoxious. Some are hella fun. In a tournament setting, you can just go your secondary if you aren't comfortable in a ditto, meaning the matchup experience may prove pointless.

OMA... Is it worth?-Hey my peeps, Jose here again with another blog that isn't a

+ Per OMA rules, omega stages are the only stages allowed. If your character is, lets say duckhunt, then you have an advantage on a big, flat stage.

+ In today's Tournament legal stage list, most stages have a weird lip angle thing in their shape. Playing certain omega stages like Prism Tower can help aid you getting used to it. (Rip Duck Hunt tho ;-;)

- Per OMA rules, omega stages are the only stages allowed. Some characters have a wall jump to aid themselves in recovery. Some omega stages (like Brinstar) dont have a "box" shape.

- Most characters benefit from platforms (Rosa, Mario) so excluding stages with platforms like Battlefield, can cut some of your playstyle out.

- You share any and all stage advantages/disadvantages with your opponents.

+ Fairly regulated chat with its set of rules.

+Great place to get information, such as who has which title or other technicalities.

+ You can display resluts here, to your win/loss.

- Actually a meme hole. (Although thats pretty fun I gotta it lol, some of the more serious dudes might not enjoy it tho)

- Some players may try to "cheat" their ways out of not playing someone in a title match.

So, for the final question. Is OMA worth it?

Is it worth going through the trouble of getting your hands on a title?

I would say...

Yes.

As long as you stay honest and keep up a good mental fortitude, you may keep challenging someone for a title, or have the courage to even lose your title to a better player.

In the end, you are striving to improve your gameplay any way you can, and if you're tired of watching Hyuga play sets you can find someone on Amino to play. They can give you their character knowledge first hand through a ditto.

And yes. For the 8th time im mentioning that its simply a ditto but...

Thats ok. Theres some substantial benefits you can receive from it as previously mentioned.

Besides, getting a title is a nice goal to work towards!

(Btw Emblem if u see this blog...<3)

So, what do you guys think after reading this? Im interested in other thoughts than my own, as always.

Your precious, most wonderful Jose will be going on vacation. Will I come back? Who knows ;)))

Until next time, catch ya later

Jose~

Titles are only to boost your ego and brag about it.There's people who really thinks titles = best player with a certain character in amino. Those are the more cancerous people in the OMA. If you really wanna prove that you are, then GO OUT THERE AND PLACE WELL IN LOCALS! Not your online tourney, not your god damn friendly sets, the actual tournament nearby you. That'll truly prove you're the best with a certain character here if placed well unlike the others. Besides, getting the KingofRyu is a downgrade from GodofRyu amirite?......
