So What The Heck Is Up With Erdrick?

So by now I'm sure all of you know about the continuous leak with Erdrick, the main protagonist from Dragon Quest.

Now personally, I don't get a SINGLE thing about this, I got nothing wrong with Dragon Quest and I think the games are good, I just think that Erdrick would be probably one of the WORST picks for Ultimate's DLC. Let me explain why...

First off, he has literally no interesting moveset potential, he has a sword, he has a sheild, and he has the non-physical power of light. Now I get this, he was the protagonist of one of the first ever JRPGs so of cource he is REALLY bland, but this means he would just be Marth with a sheild.

They could poll a Roy on us and CHANGE the sword moves, but they'd still just be attacks with a sword. The only things I see for the shield is a dash attack and a gimmick just like Link's, where when he's idol, his sheild will disable projectiles.

And I say "the non-physical power of light" because he does have the power of light, but he can't use it as an attack. From what I've seen, its only used as a cutscene thing with some stupid cliche "power of friendship" stuff going on but that's it. If it were like Mythra's light power where he could use it as beams and slashes then that'd be fine, but he can't.

To be fair, he would be a really good retro rep and some nice advertising for DQ11, but Sakurai doesn't care about that, he wants to make unique interesting characters.

But that's just the thing, he's not choosing the characters.

And knowing that Nintendo is, in the end, a business, they will look at buisness objectives, like advertising, which just increases his chances.

I'm sorry for my rant, and you know what, I could be completely wrong, he could have fire powers and stuff and I could just be too lazy to find out. Anyway, bye.
