Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob
Bob: Hey, you dumb five-piece-chicken-nugget-F**k. When you gonna finish that Harry potter smash blog thing on amino?!
Me: IDK, I kinda forgot about it during finals and then Ultimate was announced so I got caught up in that.
Bob: You going to finish it now you pathetic no-good-deep-deep-dish-piece-of-sh*t?!
Me: Well since I moved and am transitioning into a new school and writing more structured reviews for other games I just kinda figured I’d trash it.
Bob: Like hell you are, you extra-spicy-two-for-one-quesalupa-mother f**ker. You made a promise to finish this one! People really liked it and it was your most liked post! You owe it to them to finish it!
Me: Everything you just said was blatantly false. I made no promise, it’s not my most liked post and it was months ago, nobody really cares if I finish it or not.
Bob: Its cause you got stuck on the pokemon isn’t it?
Me: F**k you, you extra-crispy-buffalo-style real-deal-chicken-tenders-b*tch. Of course it was. Shulk, Luci and Ness were also tough as hell.

Hey everyone!
I’m back after a long as all hell break and it's time for part 2!
If anyone re the original blog back in (jesus christ) April, I set out to place all the Smash 4 characters into Hogwarts houses. Last time I completed the first two rows but i'm kinda forgoing the row count this time and just going until i get tired. If you never saw the first blog or want a refresher here is the link.
This also includes the criteria I’ll be using to sort the characters so if you want to check that out go ahead.
I'm just going to say this now, some characters are way easier to sort than others, and these next two rows were way harder than the last ones. I had to pull a bit of BS on this one so bear with me.
☆☆ Sorting The Smash Roster into ☆☆
Hogwarts Houses
☆Part 2☆
(Covering the rows 3 and 4)
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2F611fa5dafc958bcf0b90accce76e6cf0e585087br1-1280-800v2_hq.jpg)
Duck Hunt
And I'm already stuck. Seriously, what do I have to work with? The dogs only personality trait is being an asshole and the duck is just a freakin duck. Since I have basically nothing to work with in regards to the source material, I'm going to resort to Duck Hunt's playstyle in Smash.
Duck hunt is about applying pressure, tricking opponents, and setting traps. I'm going to say Slytherin but any house is a stretch. Great start already.
Kirby
The pink puffball is heroic, brave, carefree, kind, and outgoing. He likes going out of his way to help others and has a strong sense of justice. He is sometimes compulsive and irrational in his actions and is quick to resort to fighting. While he certainly has some Hufflepuff traits I think Kirby belongs in Gryffindor.
King Dedede
I actually had a bit of difficulty placing the self-proclaimed ruler of Dreamland into a fitting house. Dedede doesn't seem to possess any of the virtues of the four houses but rather multiple the negative traits. He is greedy, arrogant, lazy, and selfish.
While generally an antagonist, he's not really a bad guy, often helping Kirby on his missions. While he does possess a few Slytherin traits like selfishness, I think he displays more (bad) qualities of a Gryffindor, like being lazy, arrogant, and, troublesome. Additionally, he does have occasional acts of bravery, and good-will that is befitting of a Gryffindor, so that's the house I'm going with.
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2F7481226a0f3952d896b848ad0e3852ba824e4baer1-1280-874v2_hq.jpg)
Meta Knight
While his motives and actions are always clouded in mystery, we know that Meta Knight is incredibly skilled, hard-working, focused, analytical, and an honorable as well as ruthless fighter. He's driven by his never-ending desire to improve his abilities and his disdain for laziness. Despite usually keeping to himself, he has demonstrated his abilities as a leader for the Meta-Knights.
While he has some traits from both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and values hard work and dedication like Hufflepuff, I think his overall personality and values make him a Slytherin.
Fox
The leader of Starfox is loyal, smart, and fearless. He can be a bit overconfident and disregard the rules but ultimately he's got a good sense of right and wrong and is willing to fight for it.
His positive and negative personality traits paired with his competence as a leader would make him a good addition to Gryffindor.
Falco
In of personality, Falco is a more abrasive and cocky version of Fox. He's a fierce and skilled fighter, but can often be overconfident, brash, and difficult to work with. Ultimately he does care about his team and the mission even if he's not the best at showing it. I'm going to say Gryffindor but he's definitely got some Slytherin tendencies.
Disclaimer regarding the Pokemon
So I'm going to have to cheat a bit for the Pokemon because they don't really have any personalities in the games. I'll be using the anime characters for the sorting, otherwise, I had basically nothing to work with unless I resorted to some really obscure games I know nothing about. If you have better theories and can point out evidence that would point to different placements, by all means, share, just do it in a respectful manner!

Pikachu
So Ash’s Pikachu is actually a really developed character thanks to how long the show went on. He's shown bravery and fear, sensibility, and irrational action, selfishness, and selflessness. He kinda has traits from all the houses so let's go to the very beginning and try to determine what suits him best.
Initially, Pikachu is overall friendly but stubborn (Gryffindor). He's not quick to trust people but is fiercely loyal if you give him good reason to be trusted (Slytherin). He generally willing to fight but he's sensible and likes to pick and choose his battles (Gryffindor, Slytherin). He likes to lead and takes younger Pokemon under his wing (Gryffindor). He's fair and just, even offering assistance to his enemies on rare occasions, even if he doesn't show them respect (Hufflepuff). He is for the most part pretty smart and analytical and displays an interest in learning (Ravenclaw). His most prominent trait though, and what is deciding it for me, is his incredible perseverance. Pikachu is rare to give up regardless of the odds or the situation. Whether it's a fight or just a basic interaction, Pikachu is always stubborn and determined, so I'm calling him a Gryffindor.

Charizard
Arrogant, hard-headed, prideful, quick to violence, but fiercely loyal when you earn its respect, Ash’s Charizard is a Gryffindor, and it didn't even need the affinity to fire to prove it.
Lucario
For Lucario, I'm going to be resorting to the Lucario that appears in the Pokemon movie: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew… Yeah.
Kinda stretching here.
In his pursuit of power learning to master aura (Ravenclaw/Slytherin), Lucario learned from the character Sir Aaron whom he trusted and respected (Gryffindor/Slytherin). After experiencing a betrayal, his suspicious and cynical attitude showed itself. He's super selective about who he trusts, and can often be cold and indifferent towards others (Slytherin). Despite his stubborn, antisocial, and unfriendly attitude, he is fundamentally a good Pokemon.
Additionally, he's a powerful and intelligent fighter. While he displays traits from all the houses I think he best represents a Slytherin, but it's a hard call as he demonstrates character traits and values for all the houses to some extent.
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2F4b2840c18b3237dd464c9161379e814d3966ba0br1-500-309v2_hq.jpg)
Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff is kinda a dick in the anime. It's self-centered, envious, petty, and, irritating. It's mean to other Pokemon simply because it's not the center of attention and is quick to temper and dismissive. There's not a lot to go off of here but I think Jigglypuff need for attention, jealousy, and occasional cruelty is most in line with Slytherin.
Greninja
I'm going off of ash’s Greninja, pre-Ash-Greninja. I knew nothing about this character so I pretty much solely relied on Bulbapedia. Apparently, he's stoic, brave, and values selfless, and perseverance. He also enjoys difficult battles and challenges. I'm going to say he's a Gryffindor with some Hufflepuff traits.
ROB
Sh*t, Okay… I got this.
ROB is the Robotic Operating Buddy! He's all about being your friend, helping you out, making sure everyone is having a good time, and he's always hard at work performing his function! Hufflepuff!
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2Ff822b99e22d097d2bf4a8024da7f0dedfa9e7c7fr1-880-1289v2_hq.jpg)
Ness
This one was actually really difficult because Ness is kinda an avatar character I'm of presentation but the plot and his character progression are very linear. We really don't know that much about his personality but we can assume he's adventurous and courageous based on his willing-ness (badum-tiss) to partake in the quest. He also seems to like helping people out and isn't one to back down from a fight. Gryffindor!
Captain Falcon
We don't have a ton of info on falcon to go off of, so we're just going to take a poorly educated guess. Falcon is cocky, competitive, and arrogant. He evidently has the guts to compete in the highly dangerous F-Zero races and he's convinced he's the best in the business. He has the most obvious Gryffindor traits so I'm going with that, but his intensity and drive to win suggests a bit of Slytherin.
Villager
Being an avatar, the villager can really act however you want them to. But ultimately the goal of animal crossing is to help out the residents of the town, and get everything up and running with a little hard work and perseverance. Basing it purely off of the game’s overall objective: Hufflepuff.
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2Fbb1b621d1613335dc7ed136e064896292f3f773fr1-1280-720v2_hq.jpg)
Olimar
The captain of the S.S. Dolphin proves to be resourceful, analytical, and a skillful leader to the Pikmin. You could also argue that he takes advantage of the Pikmin to complete his own goal. While yes, his interference in the ecosystem does increase the Pikmin population and survival dramatically, this was never his direct intention. He just wanted to put his ship back together and get home. I'm calling Olimar a Slytherin.
Wii Fit Trainer
Wii fit is here to help you get in shape! She's your reliable mentor every time, it's literally her only job. And you best believe nobody in the roster values hard work and perseverance more than Wii fit! Hufflepuff!
Shulk
Oh Sh*t! Is that a multifaceted character I see?
Shulk is difficult because he demonstrates a large variety of personality traits from all the houses. He's intelligent, quick thinking, resourceful, kind, loyal, determined, courageous, not a bad leader, and often irritatingly ive. He can get himself down when experiencing failure, and his most notable flaw is his initial motivation is vengeance, not justice or honor. It is clear that Shulk isn’t Slytherin, but he demonstrates traits form the rest of the houses. Crossover of traits is extremely common but Shulk's position of being an intentionally likable, non projected personality type, protagonist make him hard to clearly categorize. His intelligence and wit suggest Ravenclaw, his kindness, and hard work indicate Hufflepuff, but I want to look at the traits that enable Shulk’s character arc and his growth through Xenoblade.
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2Fb991d08e451db2e4bf18f972b3ebc88136cd24d2r1-640-360v2_hq.jpg)
No direct spoilers, but Shulk’s hero’s quest ultimately begins as a revenge story. His motivations come from a place of brash anger. As his quest goes though he begins to see the bigger picture and appreciate the world in a new light. He learns to be less self-centered and by the end of the story when put in a position of power decides to be selfless and give up said power for the greater good. These traits of initial brashness, bravery, and eventual revaluation and willingness to do the right thing strike me as traits of a Gryffindor.
Dr. Mario
Okay, I hit a bit of a roadblock here regarding if I should classify Dr. Mario as a separate character then Mario. Personally, I think he should just be the same person, and I think the game’s manual even acknowledges that they're the same person. But I wanted to get the communities input so I made a poll to decide if he should be sorted the same as Mario.
![Sorting the Roster - Part 2-[C]Excerpt from actual conversation with a friend, for confidentiality sake, let's call her: Bob](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F6940%2Fdb25ebb863a4631d1f27e6980ec159bf3277d1a5r1-996-2048v2_hq.jpg)
Gryffindor it is! (Good thing too because he has nothing to base his sorting on.)
Dark Pit
As edgy and stereotypical as his character can be at times, he's still fundamentally more interesting than Pit, don't @me. Dark Pit’s motivations are often unclear but it is obvious that he feels no sense of loyalty and prefers working alone. Like Pit, he is strong-willed and brash, but he also seems to be far less gullible more intelligent. His independent and mysterious nature paired with his intelligence and occasional arrogance mark him in my eyes as a Ravenclaw with some Gryffindor tendencies inherited from Pit.
Lucina
While her personality can be rather one-note at times, we have to give credit where credit is due. She is serious, fierce, brave, diligent, clever, kind, and determined which, considering what she’s been through, is remarkable. She is often hard on herself despite her talents and fears not living up to her ancestor’s achievements. This is actually rather difficult because she displays traits from all the houses to one extent or another. I’m going to go with Hufflepuff due to her well-rounded personality, sense of right and wrong, ludicrous levels of perseverance, and loyalty to those close to her. She also has shown that she is not naive in who she places her loyalty in, and can sometimes be rather suspicious. While I am going with Hufflepuff, an argument can certainly be made for probably any of the houses. Her bravery and occasional playfulness indicate Gryffindor, her intelligence, and dissatisfaction with her abilities is like Ravenclaw, and her resourcefulness and determination is akin to Slytherin.

PAC-MAN
The dude really doesn’t have much of a personality. His defining traits are, he likes to eat, and he’s good at mazes. (Not cause he’s clever or anything, he just spends so much time in them he kinda got good). Fortunately, he was given a smidge more of a personality in the 1980’s cartoon, and yes before you ask, I did look this stuff up. The only Pac-Man games I’ve played are the original arcade machine, Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man Party (which is actually super fun and I honestly prefer it over most Mario party games).
Anyhow, he’s characterized as an easy going guy and a ive family man. He’s a capital fellow but a bit of a simpleton. Because he doesn’t drastically match any other houses I’m putting him in Hufflepuff for being a swell, caring, and well-rounded guy.
(pun 100% intended)

That concludes the Part 2 of the sorting of the houses! Do you agree with my decisions, or disagree? If the latter, tell me why! What house do you identify as? It’s the same ending as last time! I’ll try to make the next one less of a wait okay? I’m going to finish this.
The current house count is:
Gryffindor: 16 (didn't count Dr. Mario)
Hufflepuff: 11
Ravenclaw: 5
Slytherin: 11

Oh, cool. Would you consider adding newly revealed characters in Ultimate to this?
Reply to: BoltEdge
I was considering it seeing as there are less character to cover next time.
