Greetings, Super Smash fans. How are things going?
I understand that there is this crazy Grinch leak floating around the Smash community, but I thought it would be fun to talk about 10 fighters throughout Smash Bros. that I dig using.
This article is essentially a "sequel" to the blog about 8 stages I like in the Smash series.
Again, keep in mind that I am a silly casual. I personally enjoy using everyone in Smash, as it's just fun to play as Nintendo's finest alongside third-party all-stars in one package. Should you disagree, let me know who you like in the comments section, with a polite attitude, please.
Let's not waste anymore time!

#1: Luigi (SSB)
The only fighter from Smash 64 that I'll cover is Luigi.
Personally, I feel that the fighters in the original Smash are well-designed. Just about everyone had some punch to them, despite being part of the experimental first game.
For Luigi in particular, I like how his Super Jump Punch packs a *lot* of power when timed properly; his Smash Attacks and Luigi Cyclone are not too shabby either.
His look appears to be inspired from his artwork in Mario Kart 64, with the purplish dungarees from Super Mario World. Incidentally, I like Luigi's N64 design the most; he generally has the same shade of bright blue overalls as his bro Mario.
Luigi may be the lowest-ranked character in Smash 64, but his quirky attributes are A-OK with me! I still dig using the man in green in more recent Smash games.

#2: Kirby (SSBM)
Speaking of bottom-ranked characters, I love using Kirby in Melee.
Now, I can clearly see that he's not nearly as strong as in Smash, but ever since I first got into Melee in 2004, I can't get enough of this pink puffball.
One reason why I am so fond of Kirby here is because at the time I played Melee, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror was released. That was the first Kirby game I really got into, and it helped cement Kirby as my second favorite game franchise.
Seeing Kirby in a nice 3D GameCube model was cool, and it was one of the first times I heard his voice. His color schemes looked pretty, with the white, green, and blue ones standing out to me the most.
So yeah, my love for Kirby in Melee is due to nostalgia, but I like to credit Melee for allowing Kirby to become my second favorite series.

#3: Bowser (SSBM)
Yet another low-tier fighter. Despite that, I never had any major issues with the Koopa King in SSBM.
As per most Mario spin-off games, Melee identifies Bowser as a big, powerful character. I liked how he's one of the first villains to enter Smash Bros. as a fighter. It's as if you get to enjoy playing as a major boss.
Just like Luigi, Bowser is a character whose N64 design I favor; his orange skin, yellower spikes and snout, and low-pitched roars are so cool. Melee took some creative liberties to make him look more threatening with a darker skin tone and more muscles.
While I do believe Bowser is at his current best in Smash 4, I don't despise his appearance in Melee or Brawl.

#4: Ganondorf (SSBB)
I really like Ganondorf throughout the Smash series. He is my favorite Zelda rep.
I said this before in a different blog, but I was sure that Ganon was just a miniboss of sorts in his Event Match from Melee. I was pleasantly surprised that I could take control of this powerhouse!
Anyway, I am well aware that Ganondorf received a major nerf between Melee and Brawl. He's much slower, and some attacks (like the Up B) were weakened.
Still, I love using him because of his insane power. It doesn't bug me that Ganondorf is very slow in Brawl; I would expect him to be sluggish with his immense attack power.
Aesthetically, I prefer his Ocarina of Time look, as was the case in Melee (and the Ultimate), but I goofily dig his voice here in Brawl. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

#5: Ivysaur (SSBB)
This may come off as a shock, but I consider Ivysaur to be my favorite Pokemon. I love his aqua green skin, pink bulb, and deep voice.
When I saw Ivysaur in Brawl, it was the first time I saw him since the anime way back when. On a side note, Brawl helped me get into PokePark, which in turn reignited my love for Pokemon.
As a Smash fighter, Ivy is not the best, unfortunately; his aerial game is abysmal, the stamina was limiting, and his type weakness to fire made him *very* easy to kill.
Like other low-tier fighters on this list, I looked past Ivy's obvious flaws and focused on my favorite moves, such as his strong up smash and damage-racking neutral B.
After enjoying him in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I declared Ivysaur to be my favorite Pokemon. I can't wait to use him in Ultimate, with no stamina or type weakness restrictions!

#6: Sonic (SSBB)
Here is the first character to not be low on the tier list.
Like just about everyone else, I was stoked about Sonic ing Super Smash Bros. Brawl as one of the first third-party representatives. We can finally have Sonic and Mario lock horns in a proper battle!
While the Blue Blur isn't a low-tier fighter in Brawl, his most obvious weakness is his low attack power. Even his Smash Attacks don't kill till over 100%. His Final Smash, however...
Similar to Ganondorf and his slowness, I try to make things work out with Sonic's lack of power. He is a speedy-type, so it's not a major issue (for me, at least) that his physical strength is not good.
Plus, Brawl was one of the first games I had where Sonic appears alongside Mario. I would later get into those goofy Olympic Games crossovers.
I definitely believe that Sonic got some good buffs in Smash 4, but I still like using him in his debut in Brawl.

#7: Jigglypuff (SSB4)
Ah, Jigglypuff. The lovable Normal/Fairy type is my second favorite Pokemon.
I dig using her throughout all of Smash, but one of my fonder memories is with her Smash 4 incarnation.
One of the main buffs Puff has in this game is her Rest. After getting a tremendous nerf in Brawl, Jigglypuff's Down B boasts respectable knockback, though not to the levels as in Melee. Likewise, her Final Smash makes her noticeably larger than before.
As a smaller point, I liked that Jigglypuff was available from the get-go in the Wii U version. I have the unpopular opinion about liking that both versions of SSB4 had a lot of default characters.
Her design looks pretty. She now has more blue in her eyes, and smiles more often. Jigglypuff regains a bow as an alternative costume too.

#8: Charizard (SSB4)
While we're on the subject of Pokemon, Charizard is one of my most played characters in Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U.
Ivysaur might be my favorite Pokemon, but I concede that Charizard is definitely the most iconic of the three Pokemon from the Trainer in Brawl.
For his stint as a standalone fighter, Charizard is quite fun to use. His attacks are nice and strong, and he no longer has to deal with any stamina weaknesses. I like his new Flare Blitz special.
I believe that Charizard benefitted from the aesthetic changes in Smash 4 more than most fighters. His skin is a much more vibrant orange, complete with distinct color changes. He also received new voice clips that sounds just like his appearance in the anime.
Even though this Fire-type starter is going back to the Pokemon Trainer in Smash Ultimate, I have a lot of fun using him as his own character in Smash 4.

#9: Ryu (SSB4)
While this blog mostly covered mid to low-tier fighters, I don't have anything against high-tier characters in Smash. They can be fun.
Ryu has enjoyed a nice, high ranking on the Smash 4 list since his inclusion mid-2015. This is due to his risky yet rewarding input special techniques, just like in Street Fighter.
My reasons for liking Ryu is that he is a brawler. My favorite kinds of fighters in Smash are ones who get to the point with direct physical attacks.
I'm not going to lie; I suck at mastering the input commands, but I gotten used to the timing of his stronger Shoryuken. I also am a fan of the normal Shoryuken, side smash, and down air.
Ryu is a great addition in SSB4.

#10: Cloud (SSB4)
Last but not least is Cloud Strife, one of the highest ranked Smash 4 fighters.
It's clear that he is OP; with strong attacks, good speed, and high priority, Cloud has few flaws in his kit.
Call me dumb, but...I kinda like that Cloud is OP. I like comparing him to Donkey Kong, being that he's good at everything. Sometimes it's fun to play as a crazy strong character.
It appears that Ultimate will tone down his Limit Break, weakening it if it's unused after some time.
One thing I would like is for Cloud to speak English, buuut... that's probably not going to happen for certain voice acting reasons. Oh well. I am just happy Cloud is returning in Ultimate!
There we go! It was fun writing this blog. Thanks for reading!! 🤗
