What's up guys? I'm finally doing a moveset blog, after how long? And it's on probably my favorite Sonic character, besides Sonic himself. Shadow the Hedgehog, the ultimate lifeform. Hope you enjoy the blog!

I. Stats

As Shadow resembles Sonic, Shadow would ideally, have similar stats to him, but his attacks are where he'll gets his differences.

Same as Sonic's, his crouch is the same too

3.4: Shadow has shown his skates can keep up with Sonic's speed, hence why he's so close to him.

1.50/2.40: To differentiate from Sonic, Shadow will fall faster than him.

II. Grounded Attacks

Now here's where the differences start, some of these will be taken from his attacks in his appearances in various Sonic games, as his own. But I will abide this one rule, no weapons. He may have used them in Shadow the Hedgehog but in Smash they will be absent.

Jab

Two Quick Chops and a backflip kick, the kick will put him airborne so you can use your second jump out of it for a unlikely follow up, proper DI can help you escape this.

Jab 1- 1%

Jab 2- 3%

Forward Tilt

Shadow quickly puts his elbow out, releasing chaos energy when the energy is released, it has a sweet spot which can kill at high percents, but toward the end it's noticably weaker.

Sweetspot- 7.5%

Sourspot- 2.5%

Up Tilt

Shadow snaps his fingers, making chaos energy explode above his head, it's good for catching landings, and it combos into itself at low percents.

Down Tilt

Shadow slides, like Mega Man and Cloud, this as well has a sweet spot at the beginning, but the sour spot does less damage but has more combo potential

Dash Attack

He uses his skates, halting his momentum a bit to ignite the ground below him with sparks doing a decent amount of damage with an average amount of knockback

Forward Smash

Shadow floats slightly raising both of his fists to his sides, a small explosion of chaos energy that does good damage, this surrounds him as it uses both of his hands, the hand that isn't facing you has a smaller hitbox, it has some decent end lag, so using it recklessly will call for a heavy punish.

Fully Charged Front- 20%

Uncharged Back- 4%

Fully Charged Back- 9%

Up Smash

Shadow raises his hands into the air, causing a chaos explosion, it is a good anti air, it does a good amount of knockback

Uncharged- 10%

Fully Charged- 16%

Down Smash

Shadow performs a miniature Chaos Blast surrounding him fully, a powerful but pretty slow move, perfect for punishing wiffs and shield breaks he also has intangibility in the beginning. It's his most powerful smash attack

III. Aerials

Shadow's aerials will be taken from Sonic Battle mostly, due to him not fighting in the air much. And taking the aerial combo from Sonic 06 wouldn't work in this section.

Neutral Air

Shadow's neutral air will be a quick release of chaos energy to surround him, it'll be mostly used for edge guarding and a primary tool for finishing combos.

Forward Air

His forward air will be taken straight from Shadow the Hedgehog, it's a quick kick to the side, sadly I do not have a gif of this, but still. This'll will be a quick but slightly weak aerial, but it does have potential to combo into itself, it isn't all that useless.

Back Air

His strongest aerial attack, this move will send your opponents flying with one quick strike, he extends his leg out backwards similar to Fox and Sonic, this can kill at a decent percentage.

Down Air

Shadow decides not to give a damn about your existence and points below him, sending you down to the shadow realm (No pun intended) with an immense amount of force, the sourspot will send them upwards as usual. His down air will suffer from some slow start up frames for balancing but when this hits oh boy it will hurt.

Sourspot- 4.5%

IV. Specials

Shadow shares some of these with Sonic, due to them sharing some abilities but the ones he shares will have their own twist.

Neutral Special- Homing Attack (Obviously)

Let's get this out of the way, Shadow's homing attack will have the option to stun the opponent as in Legacy XP, the longer you hold it, the more damage it will do, as will the stun time will increase.

Uncharged- 6% Less stun then Pac-Man's bell

Fully Charged- 14% A bit more stun than his Bell

Side Special- Chaos Spear

Shadow's chaos spear will be a weak but effective tool in neutral, and edge guarding. Used for keeping your distance, and killing off stage at high percents. You can charge this move slightly to make it stronger. But you must always fire it.

Fully Charged- 7.5%

Uncharged- 3%

Up Special- Chaos Control

The obvious move for his recovery, it'll be most similar to Mewtwo's teleport. His chaos control will be fully used to get back to the ledge. But there's a catch, like Sonic's spring; Shadow will be able to use his aerials after using this move but if he lands with one his landing lag will be noticably higher.

Down Special- Spindash

Basically Sonic's Side b with a orangish yellow aura, same properties, even sharing spin shotting with him. Most Sonic characters can use this move so it's a given.

V. Taunts

A short and sweet part of this blog, Shadow's taunts will pay a decent tribute to his personality and appearance in his games.

Up Taunt

Shadow pulls out a green chaos emerald and tosses it into the air, holding down the taunt button makes him toss it more times.

Side Taunt

Shadow removes his inhibitor rings and starts glowing red, before putting them back on.

Down Taunt

Shadow crosses his arms saying "Pitiful" before using chaos control to fade away then returning like Mega Man.

Originally I planned on him pulling out a pistol and reloading it, but that'd be like Ganon not using his sword.

VI. Trophy

Description

Shadow The Hedgehog is a black hedgehog who resembles Sonic. He was created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, to be the ultimate life-form. Not only does he look like Sonic, but he has equal abilities. He has great skill with the space-time warping technique called Chaos Control. To reach his goals, he'll use any means necessary.

Alternate

Shadow's side special, Chaos Spear allows him to stay away from his opponent. Charging it up will also increase it's knockback to send your foes flying! This move is great if you want to hit your opponent from a distance.

VII. Final Smash

Shadow's final smash will be none other than Super Shadow, but there's a twist, if you hold one of the attack buttons during your final smash, Shadow will release all of his energy into the powerful Chaos Blast! But at the cost of losing Super Shadow, it will send everyone in its vicinity flying.
