Training Chat Upgrades! [Coaches Needed]

A really cool friend of mine named Sword shared some tips about self improvement awhile back. I am applying similar ideas here to our lovely amino. How you may ask?

Well, are y'all aware of the official SBA Training Chat?

We're gonna give it a new purpose! It's been mostly a matchmaking chat as of late but that wasn't the original purpose at all. The original purpose was to train individuals on amino and level up their overall skill.

Before it was simply that, but now we're looking to offer that and do so much more!

But First, We Need Coaches!

Can't get much done otherwise. We're looking for good, smart players in smash to help train the wonderful individuals of the community and help them get stronger!

Disclaimer: coaches aren't for specific characters!

We're looking for active of the community that have good game sense, can give helpful tips, and love to teach others! Being active at least 5 days a week is absolutely necessary, we need y'all to be around in order to actually coach, believe it or not.

There's duties as a coach, and things to be expected from the player.

You'll be helping people in more ways than one! We're looking for you to more properly coach smashers around here, and so to do that here's some things you're gonna do:

1. Training Session

During the training session, the coach and trainee will record some of the matches that have been played. Typically, you'd want to save replays of the trainee losing. After the session, the coach should point out some habits and constant mistakes they noticed. It's up to the player if they want to keep track of it but it's recommended. Each person will then take a day or so to review the vods themselves.

2. Vod Review

The coaches should write out some sort of analysis to give to the player in dms. The analysis should be focused on explaining trainee's habits/mistakes more in-depth and explain on how to fix them, etc. The coach may also help them develop some sort of routine to follow (i.e in training mode practice your kill confirms for 20 minutes).

For the person getting the coaching, they should be reviewing the replays as well. When they watch it back, they should notice some of their own habits and come up with their own ideas on how to overcome it. Maybe even write some tips. That way, when they play again next time, they apply some of their own ideas and see what works and what doesn't.

From here, It can be pretty rinse/repeat.

I would like to note that people looking for coaches should be SERIOUS about getting help and improving. Otherwise this doesn't work at all.

~ Extra Stuff ~

Classes

It would be mad cool if coaches would get together (or by themselves, that works too) and host a class just to talk about neutral, fundamentals z or anything else about the game.

I personally was thinking about hosting an arena and vc in the chat and have people spectate while i commentate my thoughts going on mid match to give people an idea of what goes on.

Or maybe a group of coaches can just talk about the game while others listen on, asking questions, etc.

Amino has a VC permission feature, so this works out nicely to avoid random interruptions :clap:

Posting

Would be pretty lit if coaches can also post about competitive stuff. It can be anything about competition that can help.

Obviously doesn't have to be feature worthy either. Just an optional thing overall

Best past is that I'll let you change the title color to be whatever you want as well :) Especially since it won't be that many coaches, this is doable.

How To Become A Coach?

If you're willing to put in the effort, then here's how you become a coach. You first need yo meet certain requirements:

You must:

Have a good internet connection (lan suggested)

Be very active

Not be an asshole

Be level 10 or higher

If you meet these basic requirements, then you can test. There's 2 different tests you need to and they're done in order.

Test 1:

In of skill, you must be better than me. I Am Not A Great Player, but i am decent. If you can consistently beat me under good conditions and if I can see that you're fundamentals and game sense are sound, then that's good enough for me! You can move on to the second part.

Test 2:

This is where I'll test your skills of analysis. I'll send you a random vod displaying mid-to-high level skill and you'll give me your analysis on one of the players.

You'll be giving me your analysis as if I'm the player in the video requesting your help. Here I can see if you're well suited for coaching or not.

I will be managing the coach-testing myself to ensure that the s being coaches are consistent.
