Which is worse: not being in the game or being a Mii Costume?

I'm not high level enough to make it a poll, but I wanted to make this question regardless.

After the announcement of what are four of the most wanted characters in Smash as Mii Costumes, I got this question in my mind, because there's a possibility that a character might not get in the game at all.

Mii Costume. At least not being in the game means you aren't metaphorically having your corpse puppeted around, having their potential wasted. I'd rather not have Dante in the game period than have a sad imitation of him in the game. It's the same thing with clones and certain Custom Moves in Sm4sh (Lucas and Wolf).
