Smash Bros is a great franchise and within its fanbase, there lies a competitive and casual part of the series. Split apart from each other, they are completely different as I have embarked myself to participate in the #WBAT. Since I am competing in this tournament, I have chosen the topic to explain which Smash game is the best, in of a casual game. Ironic how it was meant to be a party game but is worshipped as a competitive one. Anyway let's get started.
( im also expecting some hate from this blog so let's how it goes xd, and i apologise for the quality of the blog as it isnt that great to begin with, but hopefully you all respect my opinion for what it is, but let's get started anyway—also *insert insult about my shitty tpl xddd* )

Game Modes
{\__________________________/}
Special Orders
With the release of Smash 4 came a plethora amount of game modes and brand new content and varied within the different iterations of the 3DS and Wii U versions. The Wii U version as I'll be discussing introduced a brand new game mode featuring the final bosses of Smash Bros 64, Melee, and Brawl to an extent: Master and Crazy Hand.
This tricky pair really give you a run for your money, and I'm be literal as you actually spend in game coins in order to go through the rounds of literal hell. It is mostly Crazy Orders in particular as opposed to Master Orders as it's a bit less hectic, lenient, and crazy. ( pun intended xd ) I'll go through each of these orders and highlight the content of what makes these orders great and pretty fun, though a bit frustrating in certain parts of Crazy Orders.
Master Orders is much different from Crazy Orders, seeing as the name implies and the actual content within it. It usually focuses on basic components of a battle and Special Battles such as stamina battles, 1-2 minute timed battles with either coins or stocks, Stadium modes such as Home-Run Contest, and much more. Not only that, but the difficulty is also raised and varied from different orders of Easy, Normal, and Intense with many effects being given to the player and opponent; mostly favoring the opponent and hindering the player.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
From these particular orders, the Master Orders also reward the player with other things such as custom moves and trophies. There's also the extra of custom clothing of headgear, torsos, and other details like that. Though, one of the better rewards that the player can get is the Crazy Orders Ticket, allowing the player to get a free round of Crazy Orders as opposed to paying the in-game coins to play it. Seeing as this is Master Orders, for some this may be rather easy to play since it is just basic casual battles, however, the real fun comes in the form of Crazy Orders as it truly does get hectic, frustrating, fun, and overall a great mode to play with, which the 3DS does not have, unfortunately.
Crazy Orders, on the other hand, as I mentioned prior, is pretty hectic and fun with a bit of craziness in there, as implied by the name. Since Master Orders would be in the form of one order to just play through the entire thing, Crazy Orders would be bland to copy the same style so it is radically different; choosing instead to be a row of orders until you ultimately lose or win against Crazy Hand. Take your pick. As opposed to playing Master Orders normally, Crazy Orders requires either a ticket to enter or a pay up front of 5000 gold to actually enter the thing. But, the entire thing isn't one full infinite loop, as oh god that would be terrible, as instead of that, they manage to put in as many orders as you can complete within a time limit of ten solid minutes. So yeah, it gets a bit crazy when you have to battle both quickly and efficiently to prove superior over your opponents.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
The battles themselves, however, are hard to an extent. As they do raise in difficulty similarly to Master Orders, the player retains both the same time limit as the previous match, alongside retaining 0.7x of damage of your previous match. So if you were to have around 70% of one match, in the next match, you'd have approximately around 49%. So it does get a bit hard as the difficulty curve raises an astronomical amount.
When the player does reach the end of what they want to play, or just don't want to lose their valuables; they have to get through the big boss, Crazy Hand himself. He is by himself in most cases as he retains his crazy style of fighting as he has done in previous installments with some new cool moves added in Smash 4. If you do manage to get far enough in the turn of orders, Crazy Hand is accompanied by an extra opponent to battle, albeit a bit of pushover but is nonetheless another challenge, but, if the player were to go even farther: they would reach the time of Crazy Hand being accompanied by Master Hand for one grand showdown.
Crazy Hand can also increase in health if reached the much higher turns, and if you manage to defeat him, you gain some valuables such as R.O.B as a character in Crazy Orders, Dr. Mario in Master Orders, custom moves and equipment, and others of that nature.
What really makes the highlight of this particular mode is the actual risk-reward system along having some actual challenge and a bit of fun, in my opinion. Crazy Orders in particular is very fond of the risk-reward system as it does so in many battles and is much more fun than Master Orders, but that's not to demean the value of Master Orders as it has its ups and downs. I honestly find this mode a bit fun to play through and a challenge to get through, and the satisfaction of sticking it into Crazy Hand's face after beating him... wait where is his face...his finger i guess or his top part of the hand, uhh someone fill me in...pls

8-Player Smash/Special Smash
With the differential hardware of the Wii U and 3DS, it would be easy to understand that the Wii U could process much more than the 3DS could as it did in fact take advantage of this as opposed to sticking to the same content. This conceived the concept of 8-Player Smash which I believe Sakurai wanted to do so in Melee, but could not due to hardware limitations or just a lack of time. This as the name is rather self-explanatory allows an 8-Player brawl between Nintendo's best as opposed to the normal 4-Player smash.
This in turn, allows many to play with much more people instead of just having to share turns or controllers, which usually happened with me, but enough about me. This could also allow for hectic and fun battles and take advantage of the enormous size of; Temple, Palutena's Temple, The Great Cave Offensive and a few others included. This could really take use of the enormous size and make for a fun battle, and if paired up with Special Smash, oh then you'd have a bit of a fun time.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
I'd also like to mention that we get brand new colors for players 5-8 with the addition of orange, cyan, purple, and slate, and although it isn't that big of a deal, I thought it would mention it, seeing as the colors of players 1-4 have become a bit stale imo.
Anyway, while the concept of Special Smash isn't new by any means, debuting in Melee, it is further expanded by the idea of an 8-Player Smash. Not only that, but, we manage to get through more ideas of the 8-Player Smash and Special Smash as they coincide with each other quite nicely. We also get more of these Special Smash's with more abilities or items I should say, such as Jetpacks, Shields, and a plethora of more.
Overall, Special Smash is a whole lot of fun to play, casually with friends and such or just training of some sort. It really is a blast to play through, as is 8-Player Smash as there's endless possibilities within the mode itself and can prove to be rather fun to do so.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Smash Tour
Since I know many detest this gamemode, I'll keep it short and sweet. Smash Tour is sort of like a tour; the player touring across a gameboard or a map-esque battlefield. In a sense, it is much like Mario Party but in another sense, is different. Aside from walking all over the battlefield, the player and opponents gain custom moves, stat boosts, trophies, extra stuff, and more along the way of traveling to their destination. You can also manage to interact with others as if you happen to bump into another player, a battle is initatied. Side bonus: you get to play as your Mii's, so for any of you who love using Mii's, this is the game for you.
At the end of the game of 15-25 turns, your character(s) are pit into a battlefield with many other fighters with their own respective team to fight off. The winner is decided by the last one standing, so a stock match. You can also get bonuses if you unlock certain requirements or trophies and extras in general such as starting with an Ore Club or Bob-omb, having another midair jump off of Dixie Kong's trophy, and others.
In a sense, it is a bit of fun to play but drags on throughout your gameplay as it doesn't have a sense of charm unlike Mario Party. Though, you can get more custom moves, play as your Mii's, unlock new trophies and all that stuff after the game, so that's a plus I suppose. I still would've liked to see Smash Run on the Wii U as it is tens of thousands of times better than this boardgame. ( I'm sorry for including this, I apologise )

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Extra : Classic/All-Star Mode
I have two things to say about these two modes: Classic and All-Star Mode. Classic Mode in particular has gotten a definite upgrade of the basic formula of Classic Mode. The mode in my opinion has gotten a bit harder with the difficulty being able to be chosen with risking coins and such, alongside having a new boss or a combination of some; Master Core. Master Core itself is slightly difficult with many of its forms such as the dog-like figure, the sword, and the clone with some other forms. In the Wii U version, however, the Master Core is explored a bit more rather than defeating it just like the 3DS version.
All-Star Mode has also gotten a slight upgrade or more so an organization upgrade and a little reference that you may have not noticed. Within the actual mode, the characters are organized in chronological order of which their games were released, as the 3DS versions organizes it from retro-modern characters whilst the Wii U version did the opposite; from modern-retro characters.

Functionality
The functionality of the actual online mode in Smash Wii U seems much better than the 3DS version in my opinion. Seeing as the actual 3DS is quite limited in software as compared to the Wii U version, the Wii U is easily the superior version in online. For example, at times I have been mildly frustrated at the 3DS’s online functions as to me, it seems more limited and a bit more clunky as the 3DS should feel on such a staple game to be shrinked by the hardware limitations of the system. The online is easily interruptible and at times, very slow, though, that may be due to the other player’s wifi connection but is something I thought I’d mention as it bothers me quite a bit.
The Wii U version, on the other hand, is much more smooth and runs better in general. Of course it isn’t fair to compare the hardware system of the 3DS comparable to less than the Gamecube and the modern Wii U version, but it’s something that I should mention. Mostly everything about it runs smoother than the 3DS aside from the terrible connection that I get from some players, and it has a bonus of a couple extra features that the Wii U could handle, but the 3DS could not, which I’ll get to in just a moment. I may be just nitpicking the entire thing, but it is prevalent and obvious that the Wii U version has much better hardware power than the handheld 3DS version, but that’s not to say that the 3DS version is bad because it is quite well. Though, there are some bad things that the 3DS does that the Wii U doesn’t do.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
For Fun/For Glory
Now, I know that both versions feature these two modes, but again, the Wii U version’s hardware gives it that push above the 3DS version. The great thing about these games is that they feature many of the same modes within the game, and with this, Sm4sh managed to include two different modes for the Online play for the game: For Fun and For Glory.
Explaining both of these, the modes are quite fun to play in their own individual respective ways. On one hand, For Fun is well, for fun. The name is quite self-explanatory as the mode revolves around crazy, hectic, and fun gameplay. As it is a casual smash, the entire game mode is much different from For Glory, as it features items as opposed to skill. It also doesn’t feature Omega Stages, and in place, features the base stages with hazards and all that, which I’ll get into later. This particular mode appeals to the casual audience with items, four players, and all of that. But, this isn’t the only game mode in Online, as featuring only this would cause rage amongst the fanbase, and so, the inclusion of For Glory was introduced to appeal to, you guessed it, the competitive audience.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
For Glory, on the other hand, is essentially the polar opposite to For Fun. As the name implies, the glory comes from beating the opponent in pure skill and strategy. Since it isn’t a casual smash, For Glory does not allow the usage of items in battle, so fighting one-on-one or in another case, four player smash, is based on every skill that the player has honed over the years. It features Omega Stages, which are just flat stages of the base stages without any proper platforms or tri-plats like Battlefield. This definitely appeals to the competitive audience as it does not feature items, hazards, platforms, and features pure skill of one-on-one/four player battles.
The greatness that the Wii U has over the 3DS is once again, the hardware of the actual system. The smoothness allows the actual battle to run smoothly without any interruptions such as lag or any of that kind, at least in most cases. This allows the Wii U to have that edge over the 3DS version, once again, as it proves itself to be superior in this particular case.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Tourney
For those of you who don't know what Tourney is, here's a brief rundown of what it is and why it is a great feature for its time before eventually being taken down by the termination of Miiverse. Tourney was a new mode introduced for Online as it'd be sort of like a tournament in a sense with having multiple players duking it out to get into the finals and claim victory. There were tourneys that could be organized by a person and into the community to further expand Sm4sh on the Wii U, and a few organized by Nintendo themselves in order to gain a larger audience to buy their game. It is very similar to Tourney of Brawl, except it would be only in Online and only in the Wii U version of limitations of the hardware's true capabilities.
It would serve to be a fun time as it united many Smash Players together into one tournament as I had alot of fun doing so. Not only would it be extremely fun, there would be a variety of different gamemodes to play through such as one-on-ones, free-for-all, casual gameplay with items and such, and much more. The casual ones tended to be more hectic as opposed to the competitive ones with the crazy items, hazards, and all that crazy stuff. This would not only help the community of Smash through Reddit and all that stuff, but also Smash Bros Amino from my knowledge. This particular Amino has made crews, battled in tourneys and all that good stuff off of this particular mode, which is crazy to see how many people who love the franchise get together to play matches against each other in either a competitive/casual combat.

Hazardous Stages
Since the Wii U and 3DS version have similar content but different software, it would be obvious to include different stages as they do. While the 3DS does have more stages included with its respectives niches, the Wii U version goes beyond what the 3DS could have ever achieved in its run.
The Wii U takes advantage of its software and thus, manages to include stages of great mass. Temple, a classic and infamous stage of Melee and Brawl, was converted to the Wii U instead of the 3DS, and later with the inclusion of 8-Player Smash, is made into the Great Temple to fit all characters. They also included two new stages: both able to fit into the Wii U’s capabilities, The Great Cave Offensive and Palutena’s Temple which are both enormously huge. This allows many people to have a casual brawl as I have before, having much fun with these stages rather than the other basic ones. There’s also stages that are enlarged for this particular mode such as Battlefield and more.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Omega Stages
Yet another thing that both versions share is the inclusion of Omega Stages. To explain briefly, Omega Stages are essentially pit for competitive players to do so in glory. They are flat stages with no tri-plats, platforms, or in a matter, nothing besides the stage itself. It is very similar to Final Destination, except every stage, no matter how casual or competitive has this, even FD despite it being flat enough.
What really differentiates this from other Omega Stages on the 3DS is this: there are a plethora of more stages on the Wii U version. With these stages, however, there is a more definitive amount of variety for players, causal ones, to enjoy. The list is endless from Duck Hunt to Wuhu Island to The Great Cave Offensive, reduced to a small value of the enormous stage. The list is incredible and even when it is "competitivized", the stage itself still looks wonderful and is in conjunction with the hardware/software of the Wii U as it has immaculate power over the tiny handheld.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
The power of the hardware and software truly do make an enormous difference as opposed to being on the same engine. The Wii U is definitely more capable of doing more things than the 3DS and is the major reason why I believe the Wii U version is superior. It can do things greater than any 3DS can do, even with the normal 3DS or the new 3DS or the 3DS XL for that matter as the Wii U is definitively and objectively the better version in of the engine and how it can properly work.
Things I've mentioned such as new modes like Special Orders, new Online functions like Tourney or just the content and stages itself are all made possible of the Wii U. So, the Wii U isn't all that bad of a system comparing it to the 3DS version asit is clear that this is the better and smoother system as it has shaped itself into a great game of Smash U.
So with that concluding statement, I'll be glad to finish the blog now. Let is get into the finale of the blog and my concluding thoughts/statements.

I had so much fun playing through event mode when the game first came out, I wish there was a way to reset it and play through it again
Oh god, I completely forgot about Event mode. Too late to do so now.
