You could say it’s based on that P4GA song, sure, but idk the entire lyrics to it. Also, I wanted to finish this last night, but I needed the sleep.
Now that I finished this, it doesn’t seem that good. I wanted to do all this in one go, not spend a few nights on this.

”He’s standing right in his shoes and you feel like you’re in his, too.
One day, he showed up right next to you.
How strange that you should only notice now.”

Some time around 3 am at the Aether Resort Hot Springs, and the Palace Ruler and one of her cognitive Heroes—a fujoshi of a spy—are relaxing and conversing with each other after watching two episodes of an explicit series together. Before arriving, she told the fujoshi that she’d explain why the Palace Ruler had felt so down earlier.
After getting comfortable with the water’s temperature, the cognitive fujoshi speaks up, “So how come you were feeling down earlier? You said it was because of the last episode we watched—and I get why—but you also mentioned something about what happened recently.”
The Palace Ruler looks down, hesitating for a brief moment before she speaks, “So recently, I’m starting to feel a twinge of emotion towards a doctor I used to become enemies with. We were just reminiscing about what happened last year when he invited me to his close circle of friends, then did more reminiscing and clearing things up.
“A few days ago, he; his close friend, who knew the gist of the situation; and I spoke to each other for a VERY long time. Do I regret it? No, because I’ve been meaning to talk about it with him for a while.”
At this, the fujoshi speaks up bewilderedly, “Wait, why the sudden change of heart? And what about your best friend?”
The Palace Ruler smiles sadly, “Yeah about that… While I did think about that situation, it wasn’t exactly a change of heart.”
Now this makes the fujoshi even more confused. “Don’t worry, the doctor isn’t a Phantom Thief. I did state in my Phantom Terrorist.”
“A Phantom Terrorist?” Despite being a cognitive Hero, every new piece of information has led to more questions than answers, “Why ‘terrorist’ than ‘thief’? What’s the difference?”
“Because he poisoned me with love—something that I swore to discard ever since harming my former best friend,” the Palace Ruler says without skipping a beat.
“Maaron—”
“That’s why I told you guys to cut it out with calling his name.” A month ago before this happened, the Palace Ruler became furious at everyone who mentioned his beloved’s name.
”First, y’all tell me to never mention him ever again, and now this happens once I’ve stopped thinking about him. What the fuck—are you guys trying to taunt me?!”
Since then, she’s been avoiding conversation with them unless they had to prepare for the next battle.
“Also,” the Palace Ruler continues, “he does not care what happens to me. Usually, Phantom Thieves change hearts for the greater good. The doc? Nope…which is why when I confided in a close friend of mine, we both started to panic. Well, I did more than he.”
“Then why bother with the doctor of a terrorist?” the fujoshi asks, suddenly worried for her Summoner. Everyone in the Palace knows that one more wrong move can result in her death. Out of all the choices, she just HAD to fall in love with the enemy—why?!
“It’s because he’s helping me move on,” the Palace Ruler says before she goes quiet for a few moments. As she does, she thinks of the proper words to say to convince the fujoshi that this is for the best.
“Last year, I only focused on him all while neglecting everyone else. Even now, whenever I see him and his lady friend, it makes me feel miserably guilty. As a result, I run away and suppress everything from everyone, most especially if certain people constantly tell me that I annoy and creep them out.
“With the doc around, he makes me smile and forget about them, even if it’s just momentarily. I want to move on enough where I don’t sink into despair every time I see him and scum that he considers as better friends than me.”
At that last sentence, the fujoshi is at a loss for words, “Wow, you must truly despise them if you’re calling his friends scum. But you do have a valid reason—they DID betray and abandon him at one point—“
“My point is,” the Palace Ruler interrupts her, “the doctor of a terrorist can save me from my death. I’ll do whatever it takes to survive—to keep ALL of us alive—while pursuing my proof of justice. Don’t worry, I won’t make the same mistakes as last year.”
A long silence stretches out as soon as soon as those words leave her mouth. After a while, before they leave and go their separate ways, the Palace Ruler makes this vow:
”I’ll take this next chance to move on and find out where I truly belong in the world…all while talking responsibility for my actions last year.”
