Hello, this is Kaidou Ren Izumi, leader of the small but revived Art Squad to remind you of this prompt…to which I’ve finished literally at the last day. Whoops.
I was sick and some other irl stuff happened.
Now, onto my submission for #ArtGuild.
the Summer/Vintage Prompt last year? Well, I decided to do that and combine it with the Third Semester arc. Anyway, this was supposed to be completed in January—the new year.
I was sad that I didn’t get to use all the vintage references, so I recalled that prompt and extended it. Additionally, I had all these other references that I wanted to draw, so I also used those. (Scroll near end of post to see references.)
Now, the main question: Why a Lantern?
In a sense, I’m recalling this post where I used Loki and Cendrillon as aesthetics and comparing that to this. (Truthfully, I had a spare from the Water Lantern Festival and decided to keep it. Thank god I did, because I wasn’t getting the other one back. Which, rude.) Personally, the lantern project was something I wanted to do on the side, and so I did…with this prompt.

The fact that all this is not digitally made is worth a lot of praise I bet it took an insane amount of time
