[Howdy partners! You know me (and hopefully love me)! Today, I actually decided to participate in the monthly contest, as I finally got a character I know how to write for. So #CarnageContest ! I'm ready for it and let's see how this goes! I hope you enjoy! Oh, and one more thing. This story takes place *before* the "Symbiote Plauge" event in the Web of Life and Destiny group chat. So, this takes place before Gwen, Carnage, and the rest of the Spiders forces to exterminate the threat of Venom.]

"Out of the way breeder! I have a train to catch and being late will only cause more problems for ya!"

Carnage exclaimed as he ran through the streets on all fours, pushing a woman, who seemed about six months pregnant, out of his way with a shoulder bash. Luckily for the woman, a nearby man caught her in his grasp, causing no damage to her. Swiftly behind swung the Ghost-Spider, struggling to keep up with Carnage's erratic and unpredictable patterns. She remained attentive through the chase, and didn't let him out of her sights for a second.

"There's no time to call Pete, I gotta do this all on my own. How? I have no idea."

Gwen stated as she saw Carnage leap up on a bridge and extend a few tendrils, latching them onto a train cart and pulling himself along to it.

"No! Shit! A train is one of the most populated and clustered places out here in the city! Prime for his slaughter! Move it Gwen, move!"

The train itself was already going at its usual speeds, so Gwen found it a tad bit difficult to keep up with said train. Carnage was taking full advantage of Gwen's tardiness, and created an axe blade from his right hand. Bringing it up past the back of his head, he slammed the axe down with a vigorous force. Creating a crevice on the metal roof of the train cart and ripping it wide open, Carnage said:

"Hello boys and girls! Ladies and gentlemen, your next stop, a ticket to Hell!!"

A cold and unsympathetic grin would be plastered on the scarlet symbiote's cheeks. Taking no prisoners, he raised his axe once again and hopped into the air; only to be met with a swing kick to the back. Gwen had caught up with the train unbeknownst to Carnage, and successfully snuck up on him despite his advanced sensed. Carnage landed on the train cart behind, using the bottom of his axe and burying it into the roof to slow down his movement.

Ah, prime target. A good training session is all Carnage considered Gwen. To Gwen however, this was a fight she had to win. These people currently depend on her for their safety, and if even one person in there gets hurt, it's on her.

"Well well darlin', aren't ya supposed to be at home? It's your bedtime no?"

"Actually, soon enough, I'll be making it yours! Say hello to the 'goodnight' punch! It's a classic around these parts in case you don't know!"

Gwen states as she recklessly swung a hook with her left hand, connecting it with Carnage's upper mandible. The two would stand still, until Carnage began to spin his head back to it's normal position. His already seemingly pasted smile growing larger as small tendrils sprouted on his back and shoulders.

"How scrawny..."

Welp, shit. That was absolutely ineffective. Excellent. Really wouldn't mind back up, Gwen thought to herself. A backhand from Carnage would disrupt her concentration and send her flying past a few carts, leaving her tumbling and rolling onto the rooftop in agony. Holy cow...he hit hard. Her own symbiotic suit would have to repair chunks of it that flew off from the punch, which was a horizontal hook to the cheek.

The train would soon come to a halt, having reached the train station. Of course, the people would exit the train recklessly at there were two individuals on the rooftop brawling it out. Children screaming, mothers crying and the rest sane minded ones remained trying their best to escort the rest out of the vicinity. Thankfully for the rest, Carnage at this point was only focused on Gwen, so that's a positive...for them.

In a slow and cold approach, Carnage's tendrils would hover above him as he then reach Gwen. Gripping tightly onto the hoodie of her suit, Carnage lifted her up to his face level and leaned in only to observe that her suit was in fact repairing itself. Ah, a symbiote. Prime for delivering hell. One of his tendrils would cut off Gwen's repairs, cutting into her cheek just slightly and preventing the gap from closing.

Without a word, his other hand grips onto the symbiote and began to rip it off forcefully. His stare was indeed cold, but his laughter was that of unhinged insanity. Gwen thrashed, kicking, screaming, punching, you name it. The symbiote however was alive too, and it's goal was to protect itself and its host. Staying attached to Gwen's wrist, she would shoot out a web line onto another train that would be ing by them. Instantly, Gwen would be pulled along with the train and would be released from Carnage's grasp. It was a worth split second decision. Now she landed on the opposite side of the train, where there was a huge tear behind her. The same one Carnage had created earlier.

"Yer impressive, but not good enough! Webs himself can't best me, what makes ya think you can?!"

Gwen didn't reply back with a quip though, as her symbiote was still healing itself and forming the suit once again around her. She knew what she had to do. He was dangerous without a question, but he was also aggressive. This would be how she would win. Brains vs brawn...and pure unfiltered insanity.

Annoyed at the quiet that filled the air, being nothing more than the train's machinery and wheels working, Carnage lashed out. Tendrils with tipped ends flying towards Gwen in rapid succession. However, she was a Spider and possessed a greater level of agility and equilibrium than even the most trained of humans. Avoiding all the incoming tendrils, which would lodge themselves deeply within the roof of the train cart, her evades would end with a backflip. This backflip was the most critical part of her plan working. Pushing herself off the roof and turning mid air, she shot two web lines from her wrists, each of them attaching to Carnage's chest. Excellent.

"I'm not Spidey, but who says I gotta be?"

Gwen claimed as she set foot inside if the train cart. Wrapping her hands around the strands of web, she huffed as she pulled down on them. The resulting force would send Carnage forward, plopping inside the cart. This would only pepper the monster, which was fine by Gwen. Rage leads reckless decisions. Hopefully there was something to expose her.

"Well you're certainly as stupid as he is. I'd claim more, but that's not my job here."

Carnage spoke in a threatening, yet low tone. His cold stare on her glued on and unchanging. It would all be a ruse though. A ruse to get Gwen slightly tensed. As she got more and more tense, Carnage formed two weapons on each hand. An elongated blade on one and a clawed hand on the other

"Enough games! Time to meet your fate at the hands of Carnage!!"

Carnage leans forward slightly to stab the blade in Gwen's stomach. The attack was so quick, Gwen barely had time to side step. Once she did however, she would quickly realize she bad gotten into a lot more trouble than she expected after it. Tendrils from Carnage's other hand tightly constricted her upper body, and she could tell that what was coming next would be a lot of pain.

"Feel it! Love it! Thrive in the pain that rise up from the hottest spots of Hell! Let us be the ones who create living Hell on Earth! You and me. Heh, well, mostly you!"

Carnage told her as he began to lay an utter beatdown on the young Spider. First he would move his hand to the right to bash her up against the wall. Decent dent on it, let's see how the other one forms. Retrating his hand to the other side of the train walls, Gwen's body would smash up against the window and shatter whatever remained of them. Now the tendrils returned to Carnage's hand, delivering Gwen into the symbiote's grip. The other hand would turn into a mace in a flash. Gwen closed her eyes and took these few moments to plan. Even with every drop on her face ripping off more chunks of her suit of and blood spurting from her mouth, it was time to think. And she got her last resort in place, just need to get out of his grip...

"Had enough huh, princess?"

The freak would ask her as he slammed her face down on the dirty train floor. Her body remained limp, her lips and mouth busted and creating a pool of dark blood on the ground. She surely would have succumbed to her injuries if she was a normal human, but she isn't normal. Even better, she is proud of it. A small mumble could be heard coming from Gwen's battered lips. Confused, Carnage bent down to her and yelled at her:

"Hey! What mumbo jumbo are ya spittin'? Sayin' ya prayers?"

"Gotcha"

In a blitz, she sprung up and uppercut Carnage in the jaw to make him stumble. A small opening is all she needed, and that was what she got. A push kick to the stomach, a drop kick with aid from a pole used to help balance, a well timed double kick. This fury would leave Carnage up against the door of the back of the cart, all the the same time stunned by such fury. It was Gwen time to end this fight.

She made herself a human slingshot by webbing the two sides next to the door, and by leaping back and letting physics do its marvels, she pushed Carnage through the door of the door and emerged on the bride between the two carts. No time for quips or anything...okay, maybe just one.

"Hey, the train needs some repairs! Mind checking them out for me?"

She said as she grasped Carnage by the collar and throat. Gaining all of her might, she lifted him up in the air and slammed him down onto the train tracks under the bridge. She judged he would live, seeing as his symbiote was incredible powerful and he had barely been hurt by her punched. However, this would temporarily defeat him. A demonic cry becoming ever so distant as Carnage was run over by the train. Gwen shook it off though, knowing that she would eventually have to see him again. Hopefully not soon.

Her symbiote reformed around her eyes to protect her identity as she stumbled onto one of the...cleaner seats on the New York trains. Sitting down, she layed her head back and took in a breath, thinking to herself. She beat the bad guy. She saved the people, and she came out victorious in the end. That deserves a minute or two minutes of napping...
