Cover Contest Entry :revolving_hearts:

Hi hi hi! So I’ve been working on this since last Saturday and I’m decently proud of it— it’s an entry for #CC2019! I really just wanted to draw all my favorite characters in Splatoon because that’s what Splatoon’s about to me— all the iconic idols and NPCS! So without further ado, here we go!

Pearl and Marina are front and center because I love them and because they’re Splat 2’s adorable idols!

In front of them are the Judds, holy deciders of fate in every battle, and a squid and an octo in the Squid vs. Octo colors. The Judds were kind of an obvious choice, and I wanted to include an inkling and an octoling because Splatoon 2 was really about the acceptance of octos into inkling society.

Next we have Sheldon and Crusty Sean! Two of the most iconic non-Idol characters in the games. Sheldon is... well... Sheldon... and Crusty Sean sells shoes and fried food which are both things I can get behind.

Last but certainly not least, the Squid Sisters, walking away in the distance. This symbolizes them ing a so-called “idol-torch” to Pearl and Marina for Splat 2, but also their ‘fresh start’ and rekindling of their relationship as cousins and friends.

I really put a lot of thought (and effort!) into this, so I hope you guys enjoy it! Stay fresh, squidkids! :heartpulse: :revolving_hearts: :sparkling_heart:
