About

Archetype Powertech Scout Mandalorian
Alignments Mandalorian Resistance, Mandalorian Protectors, and Mandalorian.
Notes This is my main OC, if we do a PM RP you should expect me to use him, same for public RPs. That being said he is normally good aligned and I prefer to not deter from that too much. You should still use this as the basics for an RP, but the Era can change and such.

⌘ Weapons ⌘

Being a Mandalorian, Gib is quite a weapons enjoyer and has received training in many types of blasters and weapons. His main weapons are two WESTAR-35 blasters that originated from Concordia. These blaster lasers are the yellow blaster fire that's normal for Mandalorians. They also fire blue rings for stun fire. A worthy pair of weapons that can give a force trouble to face against.

Gib also has a decent mastery of a vibro-knife. This is normally stored on his fanny pack around his waist. It's not often used to be thrown, though. Gib much prefers to bring his opponents to him via his whipcord or go to them with his jetpack. The vibro-knife can be attached to his whipcord for another medium-range attack.

His Jetpack is based on the Imperial Commando design. It's a much smaller size and allows the same flight capability as a standard jetpack. He however can't fire missiles out of it, but at least it's much safer. This allows him to control the battlefield from the air.

Droid

Gib's trusty droid is a part of the seeker "parrot" series. He only calls it Scout so that's as close to a name as it has. It has multiple limbs, a small taser, and most importantly a spike hand for hacking. It's able to hover in the air and gather data for Gib. So when running from Gib you have to run from Scout to be considered safe.

⌘ Armor ⌘

Gib's armor is higher purity beskar than most from his time. He obtained the beskar that was later used to forge into his armor when the bodies of his parents were recovered. Half of the beskar from their armor went to Gib's armor, and then he used the rest for Zar Shire's armor. His vambraces are the bread and butter of his kit. His right vambrace has the whipcord launcher and missile launcher. Meanwhile, his left vambrace has the flamethrower and a small fuel capsule, so the fuel isn't used from his jetpack. A note-worthy feature is the Heads-up display of his helmet, allowing him to swap to thermal vision. His armor also uses a jetpack to help with his mobility, but that also creates a large weak point that an enemy could hit, so he's not always in it. Alongside this, his knee pads also can shoot miniature missiles.

⌘ Ships ⌘

Cruiser

In wartime Gib would be stationed on a Hammerhead Corvette. Eventually, he got a promotion after displaying his quick learning of fleet strategy. Either by private military company experience or serving in war for the Mandalorians he was put in control of a Hammerhead Corvette that was later upgraded to a Hammerhead Cruiser. Gib's goal with the cruiser was to be a symbol of inspiration and protection, thus it earned the name of Galavate. It traveled with three squadrons Valeyard, Wampa, and Roar. Each squadron had six Fang fighters and one Gauntlet Fighter. The hangar also held the Turt a bonus and a bonus Gauntlet fighter the rest of it is used for visiting ships.

Light Freighter

Gibs ship is a modified VCX-100. It's not modified for stealth like The Ghost. Instead, it's been upgraded with extra shielding. Its firepower has also been upgraded through a better turret on top. It also doesn't have any dock to mount a shuttle like The Phantom. That feature is replaced with a backup engine.

• Personal Craft •

Gib has a special speeder. It's meant for battle, and it was something he used to test his blacksmithing skills. The speeder itself resembles a small basilisk war droid from the Old Republic era just scaled down to a speeder.

⌘ Additional ⌘

Gib has a comm link that he always has on him and has basic explosive knowledge, even if he doesn't always have them beyond wrist rockets. His chain code is also stored on his left vambrace.

⌘ Combat Style ⌘

When Gib dual wields his WESTAR-35 blasters, he still prioritizes finding cover and fighting from range. If Gib can not find any decent cover, this is where his jet pack gets useful. He can either get high ground or rush his opponent and fight at a melee duel. He's not bad at fist combat, but his vibro-knife is his go-to.

His wrist rockets are often of the concussive variety that he can use to get an upper hand in a fight. Then both his flamethrower and whipcord can be used to create distance in a fight and wave around till he gains more control. His flamethrower can go 3 to 5 feet of range. His whipcord requires more precision and has other uses as well. It can be used as a whip, a grapple, and of course, a restraint.

⌘ Social Skills ⌘

Gib does not have strong social skills if combat isn't involved, he'll try to be genuinely nice even if you're a bounty target that he captures. He keeps a threatening stance though, his helmet and gear rarely come off, especially in front of strangers. If he doesn't intrigue you, you probably gravitate more to just ignoring him and letting him continue his business. Gib just seems like an emotionless buckethead to the average person.

⌘ Technical Skills ⌘

Given the time Gib absolutely can do tech-related stuff but a droid will always be faster than him, so thankfully he has a trusted droid partner so he can focus on the stress of battle instead.

⌘ Mechanical Skills ⌘

Gib would know how to repair his ship and speeder, the ship would take too long by himself though so he keeps constant maintenance to avoid any major out-of-commission periods. He also knows how to make Mandalorian armor, so he has advanced mechanical skills. Almost all of it was taught by other Mandalorians from his time on Mandalore.

⌘ Stats ⌘

To summarize Gib is primarily a jack of all trades in the stat department, but that doesn't make him an elite Mandalorian who always kills his target.

• Strength 16/20 •

Trained as a bounty hunter meant the strength wasn't wasted. He spars with others frequently but someone known for fighting easily outmatched him in brute strength. He also can't solo large beasts but probably could wrestle a predator like a few wolves.

• Agility 12/20 •

In of agility Gib can chase after bounty targets but without his gear and jetpack he probably wouldn't catch them. This isn't his strong suit but he's also not awful at it. It's also worth mentioning running in armor is not the best idea, but his ts aren't restricted with his armor.

• Constitution 18/20 •

Gib does have the beskar armor that will help him take a heavy beating. He's also known for his beskar will though, otherwise known as being stubborn. He's likely to eventually out but he won't just let his opponent walk away without a beating.

• Intelligence 16/20 •

Being a Mandalorian He's trained for battle and has great battle knowledge and later in his life he could be a great iral. He also actually loves history and the Mandalorian side of history means he knows about all of the awful things the Jedi and Sith have done to the galaxy. However, He's also raised to know a lot about Mandalorian culture, which is a very big part of the blacksmith stuff.

• Wisdom 12/20 •

Gib can be wise compared to other Mandalorians, but in practice, He's rash and won't always think things through, but he will learn and that's the important part. So this is a star that grows later on in his life.

• Charisma 12/20 •

Gib is a Mandalorian, they speak more with threats and blasters than they do with conversations. However, Gib tends to be direct when he has an actual conversation, but not everyone can stand speaking to a Buckethead. Gib is a more likable Mandalorian than most though.

⚞≡≡≡ ⌘ Important People ⌘ ≡≡≡⚟

Kuipers

At the time of Gib's birth his parents were the only other Kuipers, but that didn't last long. During the siege of Mandalore, his parents fell in combat fighting for The Mandalorian Resistance led by Bo-Katan. The Kuipers first met when Gib's father Kuld Kuiper returned to Concord Dawn from a mysterious trip on Kamino with about 74 other Mandalorians. Gib's mother Sho Trall helped Kuld get back into normal Mandalorian life, they then traveled to Mandalore.

⚞≡≡≡ Background ≡≡≡⚟

Parents and Heritage

Clan Kuiper can be traced all the way to the beginning of Humans ing the Taungs in Mandalorian culture. All there really are records of are just Clan Kuiper an old clan that fought for what they believed, the names of the did not survive the years of war in Mandalorian space. This information would be traced by art primarily, and stories ed down to each generation of Kuipers.

Gib's parents followed the beliefs of the Journeyman Protectors. Instead of residing on Concord Dawn, they lived as Nomads of Mandalore when they weren't required to rally into battles. During the Clone Wars, they had a son 20 years before the Battle of Yavin. The name Gib Kuiper was the name they chose for their son.

Unfortunately for the Kuipers, many would say this was a bad time to have a child. During the Clone Wars, the Journeyman Protectors fought in battles across the Galaxy, the Kuipers knew it wasn't the right lifestyle to raise Gib in his newborn stage. They put a pause on the Journeyman duties. The pause of action in their lives was very short-lived, soon Death Watch became Mauls Super Commandos. The Kuipers became Mandalorian Resistance fighters that rallied behind Bo-Katan and the Nite Owls.

Backstory

By the end of the Siege of Mandalore, Gib's parents were declared dead. However, Their beskar armor survived and was kept safe for Gib when he came of age. It was Kris Shire who took Gib in as her own, making him her second son. Gib was raised alongside Zar Shire. Clan Shire was a good fit to raise the young Gib Kuiper, who still kept Kuiper as his name. Gib's lifestyle still stuck to semi-nomadic with the Shires. The bond that grew between Kris and Gib was unbreakable, it was mutual respect, a real mother-and-son bond. She taught Gib and Zar how to fight, and very damn well. Zar however felt like the afterthought of the family, like Gib was always the important child that took Zars rightful place. These feelings gave Gib and Zar more of a rivalry than a brotherly bond, with Zar constantly trying to sabotage Gib without much success.

By the age of 8 and throughout 13 he started his official training to become a Mandalorian. Zar always had a year over Gib which means he started to train before Gib. That extra year only gave Zar bragging rights for that single year. Gib proved himself and caught up to Zar's skills very quickly, once again making Zar hate Gib even more. During this time Gib also took on the training of the rising phoenix, otherwise known as jetpack training for most people in the galaxy. Kris Shire did what she could to train them but for the most part, the training came from multiple different specialists. So because they were fatherless and so close in age the Mandalorian training was much more like a basic school for them.

At the of age 13 Gib did succeed in the Verd'goten. Kris Shire was there to guide both of her sons throughout each respective Verd'goten Zar however failed at age 13 but did succeed at age 14, the same year as Gib. They actually succeeded together, Zar wouldn't it it but he truly needed Gib's help to survive the Verd'goten. For the Verd'goten they both had to work together to slay a Wampa, each one of them took one of the Wampa horns. The slaughter of the Wampa was perhaps the only time they actually worked together in their lives. After they both returned Kris followed tradition and took them to a bar to celebrate Mandalorian adulthood. Gib was the only one who ed that night, just one whiff of all the beer was all he needed to learn his disgust for beer and alcohol. Truth has it that he actually never drank any alcohol in his life even in later years. He did gain an appreciation for the atmosphere of bars though and could become a regular for a few despite not drinking. He enjoyed being social, but later on in his life, it became a very good source of bounties and employers.

Just by wearing his basic cadet-style armor he was approached for random jobs. This was the start of his career. He was able to make a decent amount of savings in his teenage years, Once when people got past the whole working with a kid thing. Even though he finally started to do jobs he still held a healthy relationship with Kris Shire, but Zar grew more distant only focusing on jobs. Kris helped get Gib a VCX-100 that later was modified to become the Turt when he was around 15. Gib got most of his gear around this time like his droid.

The last thing he had to upgrade was actually his armor. He had the Kuiper family armor since he was 13 and ed his Verd'goten, so when the time came at age 15 he took it to The Great Forge. This was one of the few places that Gar Saxon and the Imperial Super Commandos could not touch. It was here that a Mandalorian Goran(blacksmith) noticed a certain potential in Gib, mainly just by the state of Gib’s cadet armor. Gib’s cadet armor told the story of his youth, damaged by each battle he did in his young years. This man was known as Lars Crane, a loyal follower of the Mandalorian Resistance. Lars took Gib in as an apprentice and taught him everything he knew about being a blacksmith and beskar.

[BC]⌘ Physical Features ⌘

Gib first used this knowledge to forge his set of armor. After that, he had more than enough beskar to forge a second pair and he knew exactly what he needed to do. He forged the second pair of armor for Zar hoping to make peace and allow Kris to be happy. At age 16 he took a trip to find Zar, on Tatooine Gib was able to gift Zar the set of near-pure beskar armor. Zar accepted the gift and the boys actually did a job together. The team had to wipe out a group of Rebels and Tusken Raiders for the Empire This was the first big guild job with a full crew for both of them. Gib really tried to follow the rules by not trying to care about who the bounty was. He tried to ignore the good and bad. For this mission it didn't seem to matter, Zar betrayed the whole crew and took the rewards. Gib did however gain friends with the other crew like Luk and Tim.

Gib grew a disgust for both Zar and most guild work. He didn't want to just be a lackey for the Empire. He knew The Empire just used bounty hunters like him to further subjugate planets, not just the dangerous raiders on Tatooine. From there he has sworn to do bounties that can better the galaxy. Capture crooks with no honor like Zar, and attack imperial bases. He would do bounties for a few more years and would gain a decent amount of credits. It was often that his jobs hurt pirate factions and the Empire.

Gib would consistently do bounties during the Reign of the Empire, but just before the Age of Rebellion, he recognized Bo-Katan Kryze and her Mandalorian Resistance as the rightful rulers of Mandalore. He returned to Mandalore to fulfill his duties as a Goran(blacksmith). Even as a mere blacksmith Mandalorian life was not peaceful, the Empire needed blacksmiths who knew the secrets of Beskar. It was the only way to keep Mandalorians stripped away from their armor and create Imperial Super Commando armor. When the Mandalorian Resistance finally lost the Great Forge he continued his work from his ship. Even while on the run the Empire captured him a few times, which only gave him more allies.

A reformed group of Mandalorian Protectors fought the empire back alongside The Mandalorian Resistance. After a few team-ups with the Protectors, Gib did eventually them and played a larger part in liberating Mandalore from the Empire. This decision saved his life, it placed him on Concord Dawn later in the war. Most importantly it kept him from being the Empire's slave. On the Night of a Thousand Tears, he witnessed the bombings of Mandalore from off-world thanks to his position on Concord Dawn. when it came time for the Imperial Super Commandos to once again attack Concord Dawn he had to flee Mandalorian space, with little hope. To say that night changed him is an understatement.

Gib Kuiper-[BC]⚞≡≡≡ Appearance ≡≡≡⚟

[BC]⌘ Physical Features ⌘

The Mandalorians who deserved to live and keep fighting didn't, but Mandalorians like Zar managed to survive. He viewed them as honorless. If anyone could teach the remaining Mandalorians about honor and on how to survive it would be Mandalorians like him. That very quickly became his new goal in life. However, once again he had to continue the bounty hunting profession to earn a living. Despite the rest of the Kuiper lineage gone, leaving Gib as the left Kuiper at a young age he continued their ways. He lost his birth parents at a very young age before he could learn their ways, and still grew up to be a proper Kuiper.

After a Mandalorian Resistance army defeated Moff Gideon on Mandalore it started “The Return”. Giib answered The Return to continue his journey of fixing the Mandalorian toxicity as a Goran. Shortly after he settled down he once again picked up his role with the Protectors. With the New Republic's blindness towards Imperial threats, it was clear Mandalore had to defend itself. Gib stayed in that fight for as long as he could with the Turt and kept it with him as he moved onto the crew of other larger vessels like Hammerhead Corvettes. Eventually being promoted to take the command of a Hammerhead Cruiser, making sure his crew lasted into the First Order’s rule.

Gib's ballad continues, even after the Final Order(35 ABY), as a leader, a bounty hunter, and a proper Mandalorian.

⌘ Beliefs ⌘

Gib as an individual should be considered a good guy, especially for a bounty hunter. He eventually separates himself from the corruption of the bounty hunter guilds, but his targets are criminals. He only wanted to make the galaxy safer and gain profit and honor. He also took bodyguard jobs and didn't focus on the thrill of the hunt.

He feels strongly about his armor, it should reflect who he is just as much if not more than his actual body. So he'll always take care of it and get revenge on whoever tries to steal it. Being a blacksmith made him a freak about armor needing to be in perfect shape. He has no problem removing his helmet but he believes his helmet should be seen as his face. Gib can get very defensive about his armor and helmet. So to summarize he's extreme, just not as much as Children of the Watch.

Gib is a part of the Mandalorian Resistance, which means he follows leaders like Bo-Katan. He follows basic Mandalorian codes like the Canons of Honor, Resol'nare, and the Super Commando Codex. He always can be a soldier when called upon but when he's not a soldier he's a traveler and a blacksmith.

He's not after power he's comfortable with just the status of Goran(blacksmith). This gives a sense of authority and nobility. He always wants to teach and protect Mandalorians. He could climb to something like a senator if Mandalore was ever in the position. He's never after the title of Mand'alor or any equivalent to it, he simply just sticks to where his people need him. Gib would only take the position of Mand'alor/Prime Minister if there was no other choice.

Gib doesn't believe the major factions such as The Republic or The Empire deserve to be the major power in the galaxy. To him, they've constantly failed the galaxy and would have no problem ing rebels. This is the same for both Jedi and Sith, to Gib they both are evil and harmful, after all, they both glassed Mandalore. He would prefer to see a galaxy where the nomadic Mandalorians travel the galaxy and settle some different problems that require, and allow individual political conflicts to play out. It's not about giving political power but about Mandalorians playing judge and defense forces around the galaxy. If that system failed due to corruption he still would think of a Republic rather than a Mand'alor that could serve as overall governing, however, the Mandalorians could still serve as the Galaxy's army rather than Jedi, which are just clones without inhibitor chips.

Gib doesn't believe in any gods. He doesn't care about the balance of the Force he either hates Force s or doesn't, but dark and light side stuff isn't a big factor in that. He's trained to see them both as enemies and judges them both the same. Gib does believe in the Manda after death, not really an afterlife but his soul ing the dead, hopefully, ed by descendants, friends, and foes.
