Today Amazon sent me a message asking me to accept the designation of Top Contributor, specifically for Steven Universe items.

Er...is this Amazon's way of calling me a huge SU nerd??
Anyway I accepted it.

They undoubtedly sent me this because I review every piece of SU media known to humankind, from the comics to the books to the Mad Libs...in depth and kinda ridiculously thoroughly.

I share the same reviews here, as you may have noticed. I'll have to let y'all know if being Amazon's SU big cheese comes with any perks lol
(If you want to read book and comic reviews, I made it into a Wiki here.)

And just so I can include some content besides, like, telling you what a dork I am and why...
It probably has not escaped some of your notice that I'm a prolific person. (If you think the content on this profile is a lot, well, you don't even know.) When I do something, I like to do it COMPLETELY, in depth, comprehensively. So maybe it doesn't surprise you to know that I've reviewed just about every book I've ever read.
With Steven Universe, those reviews are almost always good. The lowest rating I've ever given a SU tie-in was three stars...because honestly, the Mad Libs felt like it was pretty phoned in. When I post a bad review of something, though...
All of a sudden people crawl out of the woodwork to tell me I shouldn't speak unless I'm saying good things.
Honey.
That is NOT how reviews work.
My reviews are not personal rants against the authors and they're not written out of malice. I just occasionally hate a book's message or the way it's written, or I feel insulted by an author talking down to the audience.
Happily, for SU books, I mostly have good things to say, and the only time I've ever had to deal with nastiness on one of my SU book reviews was when some heteronormative butt crawled onto my review of The Answer and tried to claim that Ruby had never been called "she" (she was, in the book and the show, thanks), and they insisted it's never been proven that they're a same sex couple.
Eyerolling a lot right now y'all.
Once, I pointed out a couple typos in the music book and opined that the music theory lesson in the beginning misses its audience, and the author of the book wrote to thank me! Neat. I ended up talking to her kinda recently about a cookbook possibility for the franchise, but she didn't think it could ever come about and even if it did they wouldn't use a freelancer or take outside book pitches. (Even though I, like, know how to write book pitches and have an agent to shop my proposals to publishers and have sold a book that way before, but I digress; that's not how this publisher handles this property anyway.)
But dang it sure is cool to have, like, an officially recognized stamp of my nerdiness 🤣🤣🤣

Even Amazon knows XD
That is a big honor though! That takes a looot of dedication to read and review all those books :flushed:
I just have a lot to say all right lol
Congrats, people have a job calling you a nerd for buying a bunch of SU merch. Congratulations 🍾
No: for reviewing.
