My human interactions class with Pearl had just ended- “Alright class, that’s all for today! Enjoy your day, and be sure to bring everything you need for tomorrow” Pearl announced to the gems, who had just started to learn how to use their phones. I took my new phone and a few of my books, and started to make my way out, the rest of the gems towered over me, I attempted to get out but all the huge quartzes weren’t paying attention to me, heck, one of them nearly stepped on me! As the path cleared, I raised my head in frustration and annoyance and walked away, “If only I could make myself taller!”. As I exited little homeschool to go to my petite little house, which had purple stained windows and a blue exterior, I encountered a human!

I suddenly blushed, as I’ve never seen a human before! Well, except for Steven and Connie, but I’ve never seen one in the wild! She was dressed very strangely, as she had holes in her pants and wore a strange thing on her head. I approached her with curiosity, “Hello human, I’m Angelite!!” I said to her enthusiastically, the human turned around and looked to the left and to the right, “I’m right here!” I yelled as I waved my hand in the air while jumping. “Oh. Hey. You know it’s rude to call people human? I have a name.” the human snapped, “But that’s what you are, a human?” I asked her with confusion and uncertainty, the human crossed her arms and brushed it off as she took this strange transportation device and drove away with it.

Suddenly she jumped on her board device, and did a trick! I opened my mouth as I gasped, she’d left me starry eyed. I ran up to her, panting while I did so, “Oh my! How did you do that? Can I try your transportation board device?” the human looked at me in a confused nature, turning her head to the left, “This? It’s called a skateboard.” The human replied, she appeared to be rather surprised and confused- I don’t know why! I’m still learning how to live on this planet! Things on homeworld are much easier!

The human stuck her hand out “I’m Mia. You?”, I quickly glanced at her with puzzlement and perplexity, until I had recalled that we learnt this in our human interactions class! It’s called a hand shake. I stuck my hand out and shook hers, “Angelite! Pleasure to meet you” I answered with confidence and gentleness, I wanted to present myself well, this is the first human I’ve ever met! All of a sudden a loud, annoying, noise rung, it was coming from Mia’s hand! I could hear it! “What’s that sound? Why is it coming from your hand?!” I asked, concerned but also curious. “Oh this, pfft, it’s a watch! Oh no my breaks already over I’m gonna be late for science!” Mia exclaimed, I could see that she started to get nervous, “Science? What’s tha-“ I tried to ask before Mia pulled me by the arm and ran. As we blasted off I asked her “Where are you taking me?!?”, she was too concentrated on running, I could see the slight tension in her eyes, as she made a facial expression of worry.

I kept my self silent for the next few minutes until we reached this strange place, ‘Beach City High’, the sign on the massive building stated, mesmerized by what I was seeing, my eyes grew in shock and curiosity. This school was way more different than little homeschool! I could see some strange hoops and nets and balls, as well as a lot of greenery and wait, other humans! “Oh phew. Right on ti-“ Mia sighed, as she panted and took heavy breaths, I could see the anxiety and nervousness in her eyes slowly flow away like the waves near a beach, that’s called a simile, I learnt that in my creative writing class!

A strange red bell started to ring, suddenly the agitation returned to Mia, “Wait what am I gonna do with you!?!” She asked as she started to bite her nails. “Don’t worry! I’ll come to class with you! Pearl says it’s always interesting to learn about humans.”, I responded with excitement as my eyes glittered, I was ready for this.

As Mia and I wandered into the school’s hallway I saw other humans too! One of them was really tall, he had brown hair and was wearing a blue jacket. Another one looked like me! She was quite short, and she wore a purple skirt!! My smile grew even larger and my eyes shined in amazement and exhilaration. Suddenly I was greeted by a tall figure with little to no grey hairs and a white coat, “That’s my science teacher.” Mia whispered, “Uh sorry sir. I brought a friend with me...” Mia told her teacher, “No worries. The more the merrier!” The teacher chuckled.

The classroom was even more amazing than the outside! It had these weird cups and unusual devices, even homeworld technology wasn’t like this! I took my seat next to Mia’s, right in the center of the classroom. “Welcome class, today we’re continuing with chemistry, and we’ll be doing a little experiment” the teacher announced to the classroom.

For the next few minutes the teacher explained and demonstrated how to do the experiment, everyone else looked quite fatigued and uninterested, but my attention and concentration was fully drawn to it.

It was finally our turn to conduct the experiment, he handed each of us what’s called a beaker, he also gave us a spoon and something I’ve never heard of before, vinegar as well as baking soda. I did as I was instructed, I poured some baking soda into the beaker then took the vinegar and slowly started to sip it in, until Mia accidentally bumped into my elbow! The whole bottle of vinegar poured into the beaker and suddenly a large amount of bubbles started to form, the fizzing grew more and more until it covered the whole table!

”And this is what we call a chemical reaction. CO2 gas is being released here.” The teacher explained as he started to chuckle, the rest of the class started to laugh too, I was a little puzzled as to why until I realized I had some bubbles in my hair. Wow, Earth school truly is fascinating.
