Black Court Diamond Gems

I did these characters for an instagram challenge.

Ehm, here’s my explanation for each of the characters that I had adjusted so it could fit in an instagram caption 🖤

On the far right is Black Beryl, a former regular Beryl (Emerald) commander. She was corrupted in a diamond siege during a minor war on a planet. This led her to take a Lion-like form. Soon, Black Diamond visited the planet and found her there, prowling the planet along with a few other corrupted gems. Black Diamond left the other gems, (because they weren’t monochromatic). And uncorrupted Black Beryl with a twist. Black Beryl was able to keep a sound mind while transforming in and out of corruption. This led her to become a great asset in BD’s army, and is a high commander (just like an Emerald would be).

Black Sapphire was off-color. However, in the face of being shattered by the diamonds for her form, her eye opened. Suddenly, White, Yellow, and Blue forgot she existed. While they were dazed and trying to figure out what had happened, Black Sapphire tried to flee. Only to crash into Black Diamond. BD recognized her ability to look through/manipulate memory, and recruited her as an Aristocrat in her court. However, it has been said that if someone were to find out any classified information on Black or any of her plans, they would mysteriously forget the next day. Black Sapphire is said to be BD special “assassin” of sorts.

Black Star Diopside used to be a simple pawn in White’s court. They were all tasked to do her bidding and take out anyone who would dare be imperfect in her eyes. That is, until one BSD fled, claiming another identity. The whole Gem Cut was seen as imperfect, and were hunted down and shattered. In the face of being destroyed, one BSD unlocked a new power. A portal opened up beneath her feet and teleported her to safety. She fled for thousands of years upon the sight of other gems. But one day, she accidentally opened a portal right into Black Diamond’s quarters. Instead of being enraged, BD spoke to her, and upon hearing it, spared her wanting BSD’s powers on her side. BSD became a major part of BD’s inter-colony police force.
