Cat's Eye Au Revamp! +Ask Blog

As you may or may not know, I have an au where the Diamonds are cat's eyes because I wanted a reason to make characters neko. Whether the logic behind it makes sense or not you all seem to love the au so I like it too- but we've ran into a problem. I got bored of his design. So I redesigned him and put a little more effort into the au! I made my own designs for the gems because I wanted it to be more original, even if the designs arent that different. Steven's pink mode diamond eyes are replaced with cat eyes :3

On the reference sheet you'll see that I crammed in Steven's future/movie design, his original design, the main crystal gems, Steven's gem, and the logo. Tried to make it look neat but I don't think I got very far with that..

some explanations:

the storyline is roughly the same but here are some things that changed.

•garnet, amethyst, Steven, and the diamonds speculated that rose quartz was pink diamond before the reveal due to them both being cat's eyes.

•the diamond's personalities (along with Steven's) are a lot more innocent like and playful, such as a cat. they get distracted rather easily although yellow doesn't like to it it.

•the pearls are cat's eyes too even though I know that isn't exactly possible irl let me fantasize lmao

•Steven doesn't have his 'Chad' form in this au. (as much as I love it) it just doesn't fit his personality.

•he did not corrupt in the final! he went on a mental Breakdown sort of rampage thing and nearly destroyed beach city though.

•small things can extremely effect his mental health. kind of like he was in season one, if you tell him you ran out of cat nip he'll start sobbing.

•he loves playing with cat toys.
