I've drawn quite a bit of Copper Sulfate recently, and thought I'd just throw it out there since I haven't posted in a while. I'll also probably be doing another art dump of the ones I've been working on in my own time! :green_heart:

CS is a complex character I've loved since the moment he was drafted because of his possibilities and complexity. You don't have to be nice to be intriguing, and you don't have to be an angel to do good deeds - it creates an interesting "moral dilemma." And man do I love moral dilemmas.

On the one hand, he's a mixed up amalgamation of negative and volatile emotions that uses that intensity as an unstoppable physical strength, but on the other hand his moral task is to build foundations for native alien races the Diamonds have broken apart and doomed to destruction. He's done horribly unforgivable things, but he's also done wonderfully unforgettable things. How are you supposed to feel?

I suppose it depends on what you're willing to say is the price for the goodwill of others and their survival. Not everyone is the perfect protagonist. So I guess that's part of why I love him eh!

I'm also very much in love with Sky's new Talc especially, and certainly his Bort Diamond ?? Bort's been stepped on and crushed into the dirt, ragged on and torn to shreds. He doesn't deserve it, he's never deserved it, but regardless it has brought him to his weakest. So frail and downtrodden, it creates a physical presence of darkness and crushed emotions strong enough to kill plants and bring other gems to their knees as their emotions tear at the seams.

He and his court of defects are fascinating and unique even in the simplest of ways! I drew him a couple times too, and one of his court - a defective elongated Talc, much taller than she should have been. I personally imagined her to be "benevolently mischievous" and a creative problem solver, able to crack others' dilemmas and brighten their days - including Bort himself.

I also, because of conversations had, have a sketch of Sky's Erythrite reacting to my Pietersite. As someone of fragile fusion stability in the first place, seeing a forced fusion like him would be devastating even though he doesn't quite grasp the severity of his situation.
