Okay heyyyy ummm this came out so bad :sob: :sob: . I’m more of a semi realistic drawer so tryna go back to a cartoony style (as close to the show) as possible was hard. If I do more of these I’ll definitely stray away and draw more around my comfort zone. Also sorry for it not being colored….
Introduction & Physique
Now that I got that out of the way let’s talk about my lil concept. I’ve always had some cool idea’s for fusions in the series and while this concept of fusing these two ain’t original :joy: I’ve always had a cool idea. This is Charoite the fusion of both Steven and Lapis. Compare to other fusions, she’s very small (her height only slightly higher than Lapis) and don’t gain any extra limbs. Charoite has Dark Lavender Hair, Blue Eyes and Pastel Pink skin. Pre Timeskip, she wears a Pale Pink night gown resembling Steven shirt. She wears Lion slippers and has her very own mini lion plushie that she carry around. Post timeskip, She exchanges her clothing for a night shirt + Pj’s and a night rope.
Personality and Characteristics
Charoite is quite the bubbly and gentle gem. Despite being prone to laziness + fatigue, she’s quite adventurous. Unfortunately she has a bad habit of dozing off or dissociating in conversations so she’s better at small talk. Despite regular gems having no need for rest, due to the human aspects of this fusion she can fall asleep just like a regular human to a much dare I say serious degree. First time formed, she immediately has a fondest towards earth and the environment. She loves flying over the sea and watching the sunrise.
Powers and Ability
Compare to some gems + fusions, she more of a utility unit than a power house gem. Charoite has an ability to spell gems/ humans to fall asleep similarly to Blue Diamond ability to have gems cry/get emotional. Just like BD, gems will only fall into this dazed :dizzy_face: :dizzy: while the ability is better used and once off they’re slowly wake up (this visibly show when her surroundings are pink and she’s literally counting Zzzz lol). The downside to this is Charoite herself can also fall asleep. Charoite is a very heavy sleeper, meaning that using her abilities for a prolonged time can cause her to fall into deep slumber that once happens can be extremely hard to get out of.
1 hour of sleep can equal an entire year for Charoite (using the average sleeping span for humans, she can sleep for theoretically 8-12 years)
The only way she’ll be awaken is if Steven in this fusion can fight the fusion and gain consciousness or be forced out of the fusions by other means (an example pre timeskip, Steven being awaken by a Pink Diamond flashback). Besides her sleep spell, Charoite can create pink color clouds that she sit and ride/fly around with. She can also create these clouds for others to fly on as well. These clouds are extra soft and fluffy so she likes taking naps and falling asleep on them as well. While not a power, she also has amazing talent with whistling.
Conclusion
Omggg :sob: typing this concept was actually so fun but harder than it really had to be. I tried to give her a unique enough abilities that stray away from Steven and Lapis usually abilities. Again apologize for the crappy art and wished I could’ve given y’all Top A student college level writing but this wasn’t something really serious. Anyways y’all have a beautiful blessed day
