Dec.15: Outdoors

"C'mon P!" Amethyst pulled on Peridot's sleeve. "Let's go!"

"Hang on!" Peridot adjusted her sweater collar so it fitted more loosely around her neck.

"What are you two so eager about, anyways?" Lapis questioned.

"It's snowing!" Peridot exclaimed.

"So what?" Lapis asked in an unenthusiastic tone.

Amethyst ran to the barn's door and pushed it open. Flecks of snow made it's way inside. Peridot grinned wildly, as Lapis remained disinterested. The two gems ran outside, and they both turned to Lapis. She shut the barn door before Peridot could invite her to .

Amethyst shrugged. Lapis would just be a buzzkill, anyway. She turned to Peridot, and was met eye-to-eye with a snowball to the face. Peridot giggled, and ran into the field of corn. "Get back here!" The stout gem chuckled, running in after her. Amethyst ran deeper into the field until she came upon a patch of snow. She balled up some of it, and readied it in her hand, ready to strike. Peridot spied on her through the tall plants, trying to stifle her laughs with her hand.

Peridot jumped out at Amethyst while she was looking away, and pinned her to the ground. She could feel heat rising to face, realizing what position she was in. Amethyst was blushing too, only making her face turn a deeper shade of green. Their faces slowly inched closer and closer. Amethyst grabbed a glob of snow and pushed it against Peridot's face. They both laughed as Amethyst pushed Peridot off of her.

They both stood up and walked out of the corn field. "What should we do next?" Amethyst asked. Peridot spent a few seconds in thought then exclaimed. "I know!!"

"Lay it on me!" Amethyst replied.

"We can make art... With snow!"  

"Snowmen?"

"If that's what you call it, then yes! We will make snowmen!"

Amethyst grabbed large globs of snow and made it into a pile. Peridot shaped the snow into more rounder shapes, and made more angular and messy shapes on the head.

"Hey, that's me!" Amethyst exclaimed. "It looks just like me!"

"Wow, thanks!" She replied. "But even expert snow-artists couldn't capture an appearance like yours."
