Author's note: 8 months, 8 months of not being active has led to this moment. The reaction to my return made me almost cry ngl. So I'm here to make up for it by finishing where we left off! Chapter 4: Beautiful Lies.

The beeping sounds of computers and various pieces of gem technology could be heard ringing out within a dug out gem base within a mountain. Every single gem that was within the base had all gathered around a large main computer screen alongside the eldest emerald twin. Who ironically enough, wasn't looking at the screen and was staring directly at the door. Where in the stars were her ‘Brother’ and that warrior pearl of his? There's no way they could've gone that far away for their training. Or hey! There was always that sort of suspicion of them having some sort of secret. I mean they were always way too friendly with each other-

And that's when she saw the two finally run in, The eldest Emerald’s brother was completely beat up, completely outfitted with dirty clothes and twigs in his hair… Yep, her brother got his butt kicked again by his pearl of all gems. At this point in time, the elite saw her younger brother as both a crutch and a weakling, sure she still loved him with all her heart. But that doesn't mean she wasn't still absolutely disappointed with how weak he was.

”Sorry that we were late sis! We forgot our comes.” Emerald said with a warm smile as minty gave a small bow. “apologies Ma’am.” Minty said as the eldest Emerald scoffed. “Alright, alright. Not a big deal you two; but we've got an urgent message from yellow diamond.” The Emerald explained as she soon walked over and lightly pushed one of the

Peridots out of the way in an almost rude manner, Soon hitting the button that started the message.

The sounds of the computer screen started to buzz up loudly as it wasn't just their main diamond appearing before them. But three out of the four total diamonds had appeared before them. With white diamond taking the lead in speaking in the pre-recorded video.

”Greetings to all of our gem colonies within the outer rims of the galaxy. We are calling out to all of you with Very… Very. Important Orders. Within the Orion-Cygnus Arm of the Milky way galaxy lies a life enriched planet known only as Earth. Within the past three months, our lovely starlight Pink diamond has lost control of her first colony, as a rebellion only referred to as the ‘Crystal Gems’. Has started some form of an insurrection.” Everyone in the room seemed to have gone completely silent as the message had played, even the usual Bismuth's who had always joked around during orders were quiet too. Everyone's minds were racing at what the highest and eldest diamond was explaining to them. Although their questions were soon answered as the message continued.

”Now we know you all must be worried as to what your role will be. But you all will have the highest order of fighting on the front-lines for your home world. We have all reached a time of war within our empire, but this uprising will be quelled with the help of you. Our strongest and hardest working gems possible.” White diamond's voice was surprisingly eerie whenever she spoke, almost as if she was a mother consoling her children. Soon all of the diamonds had saluted the homeworld salute before the video had cut to static as the coordinates of a planet had popped up. Seemingly they were the coordinates to Earth itself.

”Your orders are simple, set all of your colonies into automatic mode and set your comes for homeworld. You will be given further orders within your arrival and assigned to different battalions. Prepare yourselves to serve your great homeworld.” Soon enough, the video had ended, leaving everyone absolutely speechless. They were actually going to war? And with a rebellion of gems no less? The youngest emerald and his pearl seemed to look concerned as the eldest Emerald hadn't faced away from the screen. “... You all heard the recording. All of you, get your butts moving NOW!” She had yelled out as all of the gems in the room started to scramble out of the room as fast as they possibly could, Although Mint pearl was stopped by the older emerald. “Stay here for a sec minty. We gotta talk.” the tall woman had said as the mint pearl had stopped in her tracks… What was it that her superior wanted?

within about ten or so minutes, minty had finally came outside to help out with setting all of the different machines to automatically run while they were at war. Although the male emerald soon recognized that she had came out of the building and quickly ran to her side. “Hey! What was my sister talking to you about?” The male gem asked as he lightly tilted his head. Minty seemed to lightly clear her throat as she clasped her hands together. “...We talked about our plans for the war. That all of us are gonna be together, fightin’ to earn the respect and iration of our superiors. And that she was very proud of my training of you… you've really come a long way sir.” The pearl had praised her owner with a clear look of happiness on her face.

Emerald Seemed to smile happily as he moved in and gave her a hug. “I'm even more proud of how far you've come! We're gonna do awesome on the battlefield together! Nobody will be able to stop the epsilon squad!” The gem praised her happily as he even gave their trio and gang a fun nickname, named after the planet they were currently on. Although instead of hugging back… minty just gave a small nervous laugh with a nod. “...yeah! Yeah we're gonna become the strongest warriors the homeworld has ever seen.” Those words hurt her deeply to say, this was the first time she had ever lied to him. But it was for his own good, he wasn't ready. And she didn't have the strength to risk having to pick up her beloved leader's shattered gem shards off of the battleground. Soon enough the hug had ended as Emerald had lightly placed a hand on Minty’s shoulder. “Alright! Let's get back to it, don't want sis to get angry at us slacking-” he said with a laugh as he hurried ahead. As Minty gave a small nod. As she stared at his happy face… this might be the last time she'd be able to see it this close again. Cause there's no way in the stars that he's going off the planet to the war.
