Crack.

A piercing scream silenced my ears, throwing me off balance as I clutched my gory chest. Razor sharp shards dug deep into my heart and hands, bloodying my wounds even further. Hot tears poured onto my wound, singing it.

I hit the ground with a thud, life force 99seeming to seep out through the acidic hole in my chest. Corruption flowed through my veins now as I smiled for what could be the last time. "Guess it finally got to me."

I could taste blood now as my vision began to blur. The cavity in my chest felt cold as air rushed through it. Water flooded the room and I began to drown. It was scary at first, but I soon laughed and inhaled in water, choking as my body tried to rid itself of this foreign entity. I could finally feel at peace. My vision went black as my lifeless body felt weightless. I fought between conscious life and eternal death, as my mind repeated only one thing:

"Why me?"

Here's my entry for Bappy's Crystal Corruption contest! Cobalt's inner turmoil and breaking of her soul (gotta love angst) began an opposite corruption to that of Jasper, persay; A corruption that began eating away at her until she was nothing.
