Minecraft To Gem Challenge Entry

These are my entries for the #MinecraftGems Challenge!

I did 2 out of my 5 roles and chose the Enderman and the Enchantment Table

Designs

Enchantment Table

Bluebird Azurite ended up being the gem that had both a fitting meaning as well as the right color scheme. At first I was having trouble deciding between what gem to use since the table is made of obsidian and diamonds. In the end, I went for a blue and red gem as a reference to the lapis needed to enchant and the red cloth on the top.

I decided to have her gem be on her crown as it is reminiscent of the book sitting on top but also because of the stones connection to the mind.

The green/yellow dots around her and the two large circles on her cape/chador is a nod to the experience used to enchant.

Enderman

Moving on to the Enderman, I wanted the design to be very slim and have a clear silhouette since that’s one of the most defining features of the mob in game.

I chose the purple Onyx because it had a very fitting (and beautiful) color scheme as well as an appropriate meaning.

Purple Onyx representing ‘looking forward’ and hope for the future fit well since Enderman are one of the first steps to “beating” the game and reaching The End. I didn’t give her a normal mouth because of their whole creepy unhinging jaw thing but also because it reminded me of the head canon that they speak telepathically which could be a neat thing for a gem to do.
