Ruby Facts

:fire: Rubies, along with Sapphires, are both types of Corundum, with Rubies being red and Sapphires being any color other than red. Despite this, Rubies have always been considered a separate gemstone rather than a variety of Sapphire

:fire: Large and transparent Rubies are often more valuable than even Diamonds, and Diamonds are the only (natural) gemstones harder than Rubies

:fire: Ruby symbolizes ion, protection, and an eternal, inextinguishable flame that shines as bright as the sun.

:fire: The name Ruby comes from the Latin word "rubens", which means red, and it's color is caused by the presence of the mineral chromium within the gemstone

:fire: Ruby's voice actress, Charlyne Yi, voices Chloe Park in the Cartoon Network show "We Bare Bears"

:fire: Ruby, along with Sapphire, are both visible when fusions involving Garnet unfuse due to stress. She is seen holding onto Sapphire when Alexandrite and Sardonyx fall apart in "Fusion Cuisine" and "Know Your Fusion", respectively.

:fire: Ruby is the birthstone of Rebecca Sugar and she has said that if she were a Gem, she'd be a Ruby
