When I first saw the zoolings dta, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try and adopt one of the kiddos. But as I looked at the babies more closely, I fell in love with QVB-14.

I also came up with a backstory for her, so I will share that here too!

When the Human Zoo got a little too full after the last choosening, some of the human offspring were sent off to other gems.

The gem that was supposed to take in QVB-14 backed out at the last second, so this human baby didn’t have anywhere to go. Holly Blue Agate decides that one extra baby wouldn’t be too much trouble.

Boy was she wrong.

From the moment that QVB-14 learned how to walk, she was off exploring every inch of the Human Zoo. She was a curious, adventurous soul - which would have been fine, if her curious and adventurous nature didn’t cause so much trouble.

This human girl was always climbing trees, falling from high places, getting stuck in narrow spaces, running on the rocks after going swimming, and just being a troublesome kid. QVB-14 would get hurt a lot because of her escapades. She always had scrapes and cuts on her body.

Because of this, Amethyst guards had to be sent into the Human Zoo quite often to take care of QVB-14. The Amethysts would start betting on how long it would be before she got herself hurt or suck somewhere again and one of them would have to go in and take care of her. QVB-14 was actually quite found of the Amethysts, and thankful for them, because they always bandaged her injured and told her jokes to keep her from crying.

Of course, the little voice was always telling QVB-14 not to do the things that she kept doing. She just didn’t listen. Because of this, she always had bandages or scraps and cuts on her, and her clothing was almost always ripped and dirty.

Holly Blue Agate was very exasperated with this human girl. She ended up asg an Amethyst to always be inside the Zoo enclosed with QVB-14 to make sure she stopped exploring and needing help. This Amethyst would trade off with another Amethyst twice a day - but none of the Amethysts really minded. They thought this kid was a lot of fun.

QVB-14 liked having an Amethyst around - except for when the Amethyst wouldn’t let her climb up to the top of the rocks after she had gone swimming, or climb her favorite trees. But the Amethysts found other ways to distract her - they would give QVB-14 piggyback rides, and build “forts” out of fallen tree branches and leaves. The other humans in the zoo also enjoyed having an Amethyst around - but they stuck more closely to their routine and listened to what the little voice had to say, while QVB-14 had to be coaxed along by her current Amethyst guard to listen to the little voice.

Eventually, QVB-14 became curious as to what was outside the Zoo enclosure. She watched the Amethysts coming and going from it, and wanted to go to. The Amethysts of course didn’t let her. But that didn’t stop this curious and adventurous soul.

One night when she was supposed to be sleeping, she waited as her current Amethyst guard got up to trade with another Amethyst. The human girl followed her to the door. The Amethyst wasn’t paying too much attention to her surroundings, and stopped to chat with the Amethyst that was taking her spot. Neither one of the Amethysts noticed that QVB-14 had gotten out while they were distracted.

QVB-14 had never seen anything besides her enclosure, and was overwhelmed by how big and technological everything was. She ran through the halls, messing with the keypads until she somehow managed to open a door up or she gave up.

Eventually she made it to the landing pad, where some ships where stationed. There where no Amethysts stationed there; when the new Amethyst guard went in to take the others place and couldn’t find QVB-14, she assumed the human girl had gotten up to use the bathroom. She had waited and waited, and finally got anxious, so she searched the area for her. The Amethyst of course didn’t find QVB-14 - so she panicked and got all the other Amethysts to come help her look - and that’s why there weren’t any Amethysts at their stations.

As QVB-14 was wandering about, looking at the space ships, the alarm sounded - Holly

Blue Agate had realized that no Amethysts where at their stations and was very, very mad.

Startled by the loud blaring alarm, QVB-14 scurried onto one of the ships to hide. It was a little quieter inside the ship. She looked around at all the neat things, and all the cool and colorful buttons and screens. She wanted to touch them all.

Holly Blue Agate was furious at the Amethysts - for one, they had lost a human. For another, they had all left their positions. And lastly, none of them informed her of what was going on!

Meanwhile, QVB-14 had climbed into the pilots seat of the space ship. She ran her hands over the controllers, accidentally turning on the ship. Holly Blue Agate turned off the emergency alarm, and without the blaring noise of the alarm, the Amethysts could hear the start of an engine. They knew where the human girl was.

Everyone ran to the landing pad. QVB-14 was in the process of licking the screen - it was so colorful, it reminded her of the fruit in her zoo enclosure. Everyone stopped when they arrived at the scene. The Amethyst that was supposed to be guarding QVB-14 however, didn’t stop. She ran right onto the ship. The human girl turned to see the Amethyst just as her finger was hovering over the button that would send the ship into hyper speed. The Amethyst was able to get QVB-14 away from the controllers, and then she picked the kid up into a huge hug, and proceeded to carry her back out.

QVB-14 was returned to the human enclosure. The Amethyst that had been her guard was punished. Holly Blue Agate was distressed over the whole situation. She said the human girl just wasn’t worth all the trouble - she had been one of the babies that was originally going to be given to another gem, and she should have been given to another gem.

QVB-14 understood that she had done something wrong, and that the gems were upset at her, but she didn’t understand what she did wrong. She had just been exploring, after all.

Anyway, I’m going to end the story their. That’s most of the backstory I’ve come up with for this cutie! Next, she would be sent away to live with another gem.
