A thunderous collision echoed throughout the mountain plains and grassland. Pearl retracted, but looked as elegant as ever. She quickly swung her spear back towards Steven. He managed to crouch down and repel her other attack. "Very good Steven!" Pearl exclaimed in joy, as she lunged into the air. "Thanks Pearl!" He joyfully smiled, keeping his attention on his trainer.

Pearl quickly landed on the shield, throwing a barrage of jabs at the child's shield, to which, nothing penetrated. Pearl jumped off, backwards, and away from Steven. "Alright, that should be good for today," Pearl said. Steven walked over to the seats and sat down, looking up at Pearl. "Did Mom teach you how to fight?"

Pearl looked down at Steven, with a smirk on her face. "Actually, I taught myself." She struck an elegant pose. "I couldn't just be an ordinary Pearl, not for Rose. I had to stand out from the rest after I left Homeworld to her." Steven gasped as he gazed at Pearl. "You escaped from Homeworld!?"

Pearl could tell that Steven was going to want more, so she ran her hand through his curls, and sat down next to him. Her gem lit up as holograms began to appear. One was of a large, beautiful gem, towering the boy. "I used to belong to White Diamond." The hologram switched to a line of a few pearls standing orderly next to one another.

"How charming, such nice pearls to stand before us today." The hologram expanded to reveal two other large figures. "I don't see why you brought them to witness the birth of a new leader of Homeworld." Yellow Diamond looked deterred, but then Blue spoke up. "This is wonderful. All gems should witness the creation of their Diamond. Especially when one of these pearls will be the first to serve her, even if it's short term."

A pink light shot out from the cliffside, engulfing the entire area with its brightness. Everyone quickly turned their attention to the source, and within moments, the rocks concealing the Diamond flew out in all directions. The light dimmed to a darkness, and nothing was coming out of it. "This better not be another failed attempt, White. I didn't come all this way to see another failed experiment due to lack of nutrients or atmosphere again."

"Silence yourself, Yellow. Diamonds are perfect, and you can't rush that," Blue spoke.

A pink hand grasped the outer entrance of the hole. "Hello, everyone." She spoke out as she emerged into the universe. "Wonderful." White Diamond said as she walked towards the nearest leader. "How lovely." Blue mumbled, gazing at Pink.

All the pearls stood in awe, as they saw their leaders meet with another. After brief words that couldn't be understood, White and Pink looked down at the pearls. "Pick any of your choosing, dear." Pink leaned down, and looked at the servants below. She lifted her finger pointing to a pearl with a gem on her abdomen. "That one, I'll take her." She smirked for a moment, watching the Pearl walking over to her.

The holograms faded, and Pearl began to tear up next to Steven. He quickly looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"

Pearl smiled and said, "This is where everything changed." The hologram came back to reveal White Diamond looking down at the pearls. "The rest of you, well, make yourself useful. See about the next stages of our newest Diamond's reign. Begin colonization protocols."

From there Pearl quickly guided Steven through some gem language and read over some plans that had went on for building kindergartens. Millennia was unfolding before the child, and he was in awe, for better or worse.

"Ahhh, here is one of my favorite parts." The scene showed Pearl wandering the kindergartens, to see everything going well. The Quartzes were starting to fall out from their birth holes, and one caught her eye.

She was tall, gorgeous, with pink hair and curls running down her back. Pearl stopped immediately, staring at this gem.

"She was the first Rose." Pearl smiled, noticing that Steven had made his way over to Pearl and was practically holding her, waiting for every scene. The hologram faded, and before Steven could utter another word, Pearl said, "I think you know the rest of the story." Hugging her wonderful quartz child back.
