Sometimes cosplayers or fan artists get this mixed up, so…

Because of the way Sunstone’s arms work, it’s tempting to assume their smaller arms with Garnet gloves and Garnet-like proportions are also the hands that carry the Gems.

They’re not. Sunstone’s Gems are on their big upper arms.

Unfortunately, probably because they’re a new character in “Change Your Mind” and there were a lot of moving parts to getting this episode together, Sunstone’s only scene did have a couple instances of them appearing with their Gems missing, which adds to the confusion.

(Considering we’ve seen Garnet and Ruby with missing Gems before on their hands, it’s not unheard-of in general to forget to draw a Gem’s Gem.)

Interestingly, when we do get to see Sunstone again in Steven Universe Future, there are more scenes where we can get a better look at how the Gems are placed.

Unlike with the original Sunstone design, you can also now see Garnet’s rings–on the Garnet-style hands, but still without her Gems.

Looks weird. But it’s canon!
