So uh!! I started this quite some time ago but never felt like getting to a stopping point until now!

Some messy sketches of Deep Gold Pearl and ilaryakiki's Saltwater Pearl - around the time of Honey Diamond's shattering - when all Honey Diamond court gems had been deemed illegal and fugitives, out of Glacier's fear and paranoia surrounding them.

This included Deep Gold, even though she posed quite literally no harm - all she could do after Honey's death was cry, and would come back in the night to mourn by her Diamond's throne. Saltwater felt partially responsible, guilty, for Deep Gold's suffering because of all that Glacier made him do (and the fact Honey died by Glacier's hands) - but the fear and bitterness and emptiness surrounding him outweighed it.

She risked her life in sneaking in to mourn over and again, until Saltwater finally decided he needed to give her a piece of his mind. She needed to leave, or else she'd end up dead - he hoped so strongly she would listen.

Upon reflection, he wishes he had been a better man.
