Every story is presented from one of two formats. Even though a longer story can be, well, longer in length, there are some key advantages, if done well enough, that would appeal to the readers' satisfaction. Shorter stories are shorter, obviously, and they can only go on for a scene and no longer. The scene may have more focus over a longer story whereas the plot is more important as a whole in a longer story versus a shorter story. They both have their highlights and flaws and it's not just their length.
What is your preference and why?

Can I take both?
Hmm--you could try to cut across the bushes and the buildings in between if you'd like, but it's going to be a bit rough for you.
