☆[Tutorial] How I Decide on my Gemsonas' Facet/Cut☆

Hoi! Today I'm going to give a little tutorial on how I create a facet and cut for my gemsonas!

Facet

Step 1: Diamond Number

Which Diamond does/did your gemsona belong to? I've given each of the Diamonds a number based on the order of the Diamond symbol.

White Diamond - 1

Yellow Diamond - 2

Blue Diamond - 3

Pink Diamond - 4

This will be the first number in your gem's facet

Step 2: Random Letters

For this step, you can choose any letter you want!

Some options are:

- The initials of you or another person

- Two letters from your gem's name

But really, it can be anything! These will be the two letters in your gem's facet

Step 3: Rank or Mohs Hardness

For this step, you can do one of two things:

1- Use your gem's Homeworld rank

On a scale of one to ten, how important is your gem in Homeworld heirarchy? Ones most likely being pearls and tens being diamonds (though instead of ten you'd use zero)

2- Use the Mohs Hardness Scale

The Mohs Hardness Scale is a tool used to find the, well, hardness of a mineral. Look up your gem and I'm sure you'll find it's hardness!

This will be the second number in your gem's facet

Completed Facet

Your completed facet should look something like this:

(First number) (First letter) (Second number) (Second letter)

Example (Blue Topaz): Facet 3S2N

Cut

Step 1: Rank or Mohs Hardness Scale

Go back to the facet and see what your second number was. This number will be the number of the cut

Step 2: Two More Random Letters

Now, pick two more letters! Try to choose different letters than the facet

Completed Cut

Your completed cut should look something like this:

(Number) (Letter) (Letter)

Example (Talmessite): Cut 8RJ
