Found some old au doodles + a recent mini comic I did.
Back in the day I had a little au where Az was a Pearl instead.
He fell in love with an Amethyst and they ran away together, but were eventually tracked down. He cracked his gem protecting Amethyst, rendering him mute and unable to reform correctly to heal his injuries (a missing arm). Amethyst was shattered, but Pearl Az was returned to his owner.

Also, heres a human(ish) au in which Az is a librarian named Cyril who nearly dies when his house is set ablaze in the middle of the night. He is rescued by the witch, Astrid (who belongs to Ace), who heals him. He in turn becomes her familiar due to the amount of energy healing him took.
Anyways, he uh. has some issues surrounding his scars. His family died in the fire and his own face is a constant reminder. He can't even look at himself.
He shatters the bathroom mirror one day when he catches a glimpse of himself.
