"AFTER ALL THESE YEARS..."

Here's my second entry for the Crystalline Creators group! The prompt was "your OC facing their worst fear".

Here's Variscite facing his rotting father: this is not just a strong fear, but also a deeply rooted trauma.

Variscite was made by Cognac Diamond to be his second, his counselor: he imbued his son with his own diamond essence, and wanted him to learn the government's ways. That wasn't was Varish wanted tho: his only interest was literature and poetry, and he dreamt of flying away, and live his dreams far away from his boring home.

When his planet was hit by an ancient monster, feeding on gems and corrupting everyone, he was the only one able to survive: he ran away, in his spaceship, leaving his father and family behind. So, his dream was realized, in a cruel and ironic way.

For all of his life he was crushed by guilt and shame, at the point of hiding his true identity to everyone else and pretending to be just a wandering poet.

Meeting his father, after all of that time, would be confronting a monster in his past.
