Pick the extra content you enjoy the most!
Hey folks, I just wondered about the community's perspective on SU content that is OUTSIDE the show and whether you ever check it out.
I personally consume EVERYTHING SU-related if I can, with the exception of unrelated content by Crewniverse . (Honestly though I have done a little of that. I just don't make it a priority.)
Pick which one you like best and tell me in the comments which ones you enjoy! Here's a little about each of the options and why I like them.

Comics are not considered show canon, but as "level two canon," they're still officially released SU content. They don't tie in with advancing the show's plot, but sometimes they reference it, and if they want to have a story, it has to be a separate, self-contained arc.
The art is fun, by various artists in many styles, and it's really nice to a) get regular content during hiatuses and b) spend some lower-stakes chill time with the Gems and townspeople. I collect these, including variant covers now, and I adore them.

Books vary a lot in this franchise. Quite a few activity books have been released, like the Mad Libs, the sheet music book, and the postcard book. But the informational or inspirational ones are particularly special.
Keep Beach City Weird gave us Ronaldo laughs (and potential sneak peeks!); Art and Origins gave us a robust insider story on the history and process of the show; and The Answer gave us a gorgeous fairy tale. It's all good.

Attack the Light and Save the Light are the two most famous official SU games. Attack the Light was mobile only and Save the Light was console. There are other less involved games, but these are special!
Rebecca Sugar and the Crew developed this storyline to give us the history of the Prism and a previously unknown aspect of the Gem War. We meet Hessonite well before she is mentioned in the show; we see adorable group dynamics; and we see environments and history that gives us another piece of the SU puzzle. Plus it's fun to spend time with them and play!

I love the opportunity to hear perspectives and new info in interviews and podcasts so I read and listen to every one of these I can find. McKenzie Atwood does the official podcast (and I make recaps of every episode), and I love them because they do focuses on episodes, characters, plot elements, everything! Sometimes they even answer fan questions or premiere a new song or reveal something new. It's awesome.

Do you buy or listen to music by Zach Callison or Estelle just because they provide voices for our favorite characters? Do you watch new shows by Crewniverse alums like Ian Jones-Quartey's OK KO or Matt Burnett and Ben Levin's CRAIG OF THE CREEK? Do you check out musicals starring Deedee Magno Hall or Patti LuPone because they're in the cast?
I'd love to know if you've checked out the Crew's other work after being introduced to them through SU. I've seen Deedee in concert and I plan to watch those other shows!

Hmmm. I have like, one or two of the comic books, I now have Attack The Light on my phone, and I found out that Patti LuPone was apparently Fantine in some production of Les Misérables, and musical I love, and I’m planning on looking for that (mainly just because she’s in the SU cast and I love Les Mis. Also partly because I love her singing voice as Yellow [and honestly just her voice acting in general])
Oh, and I got The Answer, Art and Origins, and the coloring book (and some other merch that doesn’t really fall under the categories here) for Christmas. So that’s awesome
Awesome! I love this rundown of all your thoughts. I LOVE Les Mis too!! It was my first musical love.
Hmmm... I read comics and also listening to podcasts.... Anddd Estelle, Zach, Deedee, And Jennifer singing and other voice actors
Yep......which one do you get the most out of? Hard for me to decide but I think for me it might be the books, because Art and Origins was so great.
