Pearl's story starts when she was first given to Green Diamond. When she first come out it was clear she was a defective Pearl, by her adnormal height. No other Pearl was as small as her after all. White Diamond was going to just end up shattering Pearl but Green begged the other to not, she wanted to keep the small Pearl. Green Diamond and Pearl became close Green Diamond was a lot like Pink. Always goofing around and making Pearl smile. Despite being serious most of the time, Green always figured a way to make Pearl smile. Because of this Pearl quickly started to fall for her Diamond. Despite this fact Pearl never met it be known, 1 because she was only a Pearl a defective one at that. 2 a Pearl and a Diamond?? Come on it was impossible! Along side of Green already had feelings for another and Pearl knew this. Pink Diamond. Green and Pink were always so close, even when Pink turned on the Diamond's and became Rose Quartz. Green was the only one that knew of Pink's plan. Which led to Pearl getting worried her Diamond would be caught in the cross fire. Because of that she told the other diamonds of the information Green held. When the diamond's confronted Green Diamond she was saddened to hear that her own Pearl went behind her back. Tho unfortunately Green wouldn't give up the identity of Rose Quartz. She wouldn't tell the other diamonds which Quartz it was not where the Quartz was. Thanks to that choice White Diamond ended up shattering Green. Right in front of Pearl. Pearl was left in shock, staring at the pieces of her Diamond. Soon she started to yell at White. In anger, in betral. White spoke back telling the defective Pearl if she didn't stop shedbe shattered too. Pearl ultimately didn't care now, her Diamond was gone she had nothing now. Tho despite what White said Pearl had the same fate as Volleyball. Being controlled. Years later with Steven arriving and with White letting go of her hold on everyone. Pearl was freed. Tho still unsure about what her new place was, Pearl was soon recognized by Pink Diamond's old Pearl(not Volleyball). Teal Pearl and Pearl knew each other from back when Pink and Green were around. So Pearl asked Teal if she wanted to stay at the temple with the gems and her. Knowing of Green Diamond's shattering, she knew the smaller Pearl would appreciate a familiar face.
