good traits :

sociable; isla loves to socialize with people, not purely to make friends but just to hear some fun stories or tease that one introvert in the corner jokingly. isla always goes all out and will always try to have a conversation with you when the chance appears

charming; isla along with her sociable and spontaneous outlooks combined make up for a very charming mix. she’s figured out the perfect ways to smooth talk and get gems to agree with her through such charms

spontaneous; isla often times doesn’t even have to think before finding another adventure to run off to, being the traveling gem she is she often times finds many strangers to talk to or different place to explore on terraforming missions

graceful; while she can at times be clumsy isla is oftentimes found to be very graceful especially when in the air terraforming. isla has absolute respect for the gifts she wields and will always be very focused when using it

neutral traits :

stealthy; sneaking around goes in hand with islas spontaneous and intrepid traits as it’s not very common for home world gems to be as rule breaking and adventurous as isla is. so being a bit stealthy never hurt anyone and it definitely helps isla in more ways than one. however it can get her into trouble sometimes with those who have to keep her secret

willful; isla is very strong willed and doesn’t really stand down when she is told otherwise to things this leading to other traits mentioned before

opinionated; islas opinions will almost always be put out into the open when opinionated topics arise. isla is willful, sociable, careless, etc. which makes way for this trait to go all out. isla will often times get into trouble or make new friends with such opinions

bad traits :

rebellious; isla hates the way home world is designed and the diamonds ruling there. this has often caused her to rebel in her own ways and become a bit of a trouble maker to those around her. isla is often found going against the diamond authority later on

careless; isla has no thoughts in her head towards those pesky fears people normally have. don’t get me wrong she still fears lots of things but often times never ever lets it show. especially here where her carelessness lies, she will often times silence thoughts of fears and no longer think of consequences

impulsive; like stated before isla is spontaneous and careless and much more making her impulses very wild and very hard to resist leading to some fun and not so fun adventures and relationships

opinion on diamonds :

bad; isla hates the diamonds due to their controlling outlook and their need for every gem to be perfect. isla being made with a gem socket and no arm has made her the butt jokes of many other gems for not being perfect but she however if not considered defective in that sense. she hates the control/influence of the diamonds and their need for perfection overall

opinion on rebellion :

good; she feels trapped on homeworld and when word of rebels on earth spread isla almost jumped for joy. the only problem was that at that time she had found a gem whom she loved and didn’t want to it it. so she was simultaneously trapped in a hard situation between love and freedom

gypsum, water, adventure, white sapphire, making water tricks for gypsum, food(especially jello)

the diamonds, blue pyrope, some other lapis lazulis, home-world, terraforming big areas

fears/phobias :

being left behind; isla often times only makes superficial friends so when she makes those who might be closer and more trusted to her she fears what will happen if they ever decide to leave. isla fears they won’t like her for long and will leave her behind

accidentally hurting gypsum; isla is a water gem meaning water always follows her as she uses it everyday. however gypsum is extremely fragile and can be harmed and even killed by water and with the two conflicting elements isla has to be really careful around gypsum at all times

no personality defects, although because of her lack of arm and ill treatment she got from it she can be a bit more I’ll tempered some days

the traditional lapis lazuli tear drop shape, with a light blue top half and a deeper blue bottom

very short spurts of hairlength with a sort of shaved sided mohawk with sideburns style. a pale, pale blue color that’s very fluffy/spiky

isla wears a crop top design full of blues and the singular gold stripe. it has the classic blue diamond symbol layered with a deep blue sleeve on her right. the left sleeve wasn’t formed so that it won’t inhibit any water powers formulating from their gem. the lower half is accompanied by a classic lazuli skirt/dress and shorts with just above the knee socks. the right arm, chest, and top right leg sport a bandage look that may or may not be covering some secrets

most lazulis sport a more full hair but isla decided to form with a more personalized look.   isla also formed without an arm which isn’t much of a setback however is considered a mutation amongst lazulis

as a whole lapis lazuli gems act as terrformers for potential colonies. they use their masterful water powers in order to mold and shape the planet around them and remove or destroy certain aspects of life in said planet. isla is no different, acting as a mainstream terraforming lapis whom travels to different potential colony planets and making them fit for the diamonds will

hydrokinesis; lapis lazulis aren’t known to summon a physical weapon however they have been known to use their water powers in place of such needs

regeneration; like any gem when too much stress is caused to their bodies they can poof and regenerate again after retreating to their gem for sometime

fusion; like most gems they can partake in fusion of two or more gems. the fusion will more or less have hydrokinesis as well

shapeshifting; like some gems they can change/alter their form for a certain amount of time

bubbling; like most gems they can bubble important items

hydrokinesis; lapis lazulis as a whole are designed for terraforming with their water powers. meaning the not so defective isla has such powers and can manipulate water for her own will

flight; the ability of hydrokinesis has paved way for any lapis lazuli to fly with power of water wings

avoidant; isla is not much of an attacker and will often try and sneak past any forms of physical confrontation. however when physical fights arise she will depend heavily upon her water powers and hydrokinesis to aim large water flow attacks

backstory :

era one,

isla formed in kindergarten rho, on home world, blue diamonds first kindergarten and one of her only ones on home worlds terrain. Isla along with a couple hundred lapis lazuli gems emerged that day, and Islas name at the time was lapis lazuli facet 3R8M, cut 5XA. from there they were quickly ordered by their galaxite general to help terraform the remainder of the planet. then isla was subjected to the struggles of overcoming the missing arm of hers while focusing on her growth in water manipulation at the time. there she spent a few hundred years working out the basics of her powers and making new friends as she gained her confidence and growing a bit of a goofy side she made the name isla by combining the “is” from lapis and the “la” from lazuli. then around four hundred years later she and another few lapis’s were sent from planet to planet on terraforming missions for up and coming colonies. this is where her hatred for the control of the diamonds began..

era two,

around Islas eight thousand year old mark she is informed by a galaxite general that her next mission is to travel to planet shichihiri in order to terraform the new planet with some other lapis lazulis from around the solar system. there she meets white sapphire whom sparks Islas interest in the crystal gems and the rebellion as a whole. and for a thousand years isla works with and helps feed information to white sapphire all whilst planning an escape. but then as she was terraforming high in the air of the blue planet of shichihiri she felt an impeding gaze. when looking to find such gaze she spotted a small desert rose whom had the same sort of gem placement as her own except on the right side. there she grew interest and follow the desert rose around for a while becoming acquainted. however the gem, she figured out was gypsum, quickly left as soon as she arrived with her partial owner blue pyrope. and for another thousand years isla waited for gypsum’s return still being active in her plan for escape. and just as she was so close to leaving gypsum returned and decided to flip Islas mind once again. and isla then attempted to pull gypsum into her plans of escape and freedom to a new world..
