Hi all!

Maybe you don't have to, maybe you have to, but at least I have to read a couple of books for both Dutch class and English class.

As I'm nearing the end of my last book for English class, I thought I'd share a tip my teacher gave me for choosing the books I'd read!

Choose a theme that connects all of your books.

Some examples

- (Mental) illnesses

- The relationship between parents and their children

- Moving

- Something that appears in every title, like flowers (you can explain how each flower has to do with the story and the differences between your books)

- Protagonists that have (almost) the same name

- Dystopian worlds

It can be very simple or more complex, whatever you like.

In the end, I choose the theme 'Leaving home'. It first was 'Not being seen anymore', after that something else which I forgot, and now 'Leaving home'. Some books take this literally, others more figuratively.

It certainly helped me. I have to talk about five books in about ten minutes, so it is great to have something that connects all of them!

I hope this helped you in some way, too!

Happy reading!
