Background Info

Battle is a demo 1989 reject that very recently came into circulation. I've heard Taylor co-wrote it with Liz Rose, but I'm not certain. It was recorded between 2012-2014. The song depicts Taylor being confronted by a boyfriend who cheated on her. She's confused why he would want to fight her when he's the one who wrecked the relationship in the first place; he fights like he'll get a medal for it. In the beginning, she says she'll eagerly fight back, even though she'd rather be on his side. But by the end of the song, Taylor reveals she wishes the fight would be broken up.
