I'm sure most of you already know that one of Taylor's favorite TV shows is "Friends". I'm also a fan of both of these.

Yesterday, I spent a large portion of my day rewatching "Friends" episodes on Netflix. At one point, I noticed that part of the plot seemed similar to a Taylor song, which made me wonder if there were any other connections.

I came up with a few songs that I think are echoed in various plot points throughout "Friends". If you haven't seen "Friends", there are many spoilers ahead.
Speak Now
In the Season 4 finale, Rachel realizes she still loves Ross. Even though she had previously decided not to go to Ross and Emily's wedding, she changes her mind and hops on a plane to London (where they're getting married). She feels like she has to tell Ross how she feels. I imagine the scenario in her mind is similar to the story painted in "Speak Now".

Ours
I think this song fits with Monica and Chandler's relationship pretty well. It's not a perfect fit, but there are a few points that make it seem fitting. The lyric "they'll judge it like they know about me and you" reminds me of the first part of their relationship, when they were keeping it a secret from all their other friends. They thought part of the reason their relationship might be working well was because it was a secret. There were a few slip-ups, and their friends' reactions really seemed to be shocked, and occasionally judgmental. In addition, the lyric " ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me" is applicable to every relationship, and these two are no exception. This seems to be how Chandler feels about Richard -- on the occasions where he's brought up, he seems to think that he doesn't stand a chance against Richard. Also, just the general love flowing throughout this song reminds me of Monica and Chandler: of the friends, they have the longest, most stable relationship, and you can tell that they genuinely love each other.

Last Kiss
Based on Ross' behavior, I think this song could really describe how he feels after each break-up with Rachel. As he's had feelings for her since high school, I imagine he always believed if he ever got to be with Rachel, he'd hang onto her forever. After each break-up, I imagine this is how he feels. And in the end, he's right: they get together in the series finale, and the assumption is that they're back together for good.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
This one is a bit obvious, but I think this applies to the fallout of the whole "we were on a break" fiasco. Even though they eventually did get back together, this haunted their relationship for a long time.

Everything Has Changed
This song seems to fit Phoebe's relationship with Mike. His quirks fit perfectly with hers, and when her old boyfriend comes back from Minsk, she ultimately chooses to stay with Mike, even though she its that things might have been different a few years ago. But everything has changed.

I Almost Do
This, to me, describes Monica's feelings after breaking up with Richard. She wanted to get back together with him several times, but realized that nothing had really changed. Nevertheless, there was a Season 3 episode where they tried it again, before coming to that conclusion.

Do you think that all of these apply? What songs did I miss? Let me know in the comments!
(I wanted to include Joey, but I had a really hard time thinking of a Taylor song that could be linked to him)

Thanks for reading!
