I’m twenty nine years old. I’m almost thirty, I’m so close to hitting that huge milestone in my life. It’s both terrifying and thrilling at the same time. I guess that’s what life is.

A question that has come up again and again is ‘what is a lover?’ I’d like to ask all of you that right now. What’s a lover to you? Is it your boyfriend or girlfriend? Your best friend? Your mom? Your dad?

To me, a lover is someone that stays. Your true friends and family will let you cry into their shoulder and whisper comforting words of encouragement and love. Others bolt in the other direction when things get hard. The ones that stay are your lovers. The ones that care and love you no matter what happens. Lovers are people who are willing to take a chance on you because you’re willing to take a chance on them. Why? Because you love them.

This will make you smile while tears are streaming down your face as you relive your happiest and most painful memories. Ladies and gentlemen, Lover.
