We love Monopoly in our house. We have house rules for most of the games we own. It makes it more fun. My Uno house rules make the games super fast.
Like almost all other "family game night" games, my reaction to Monopoly is a resounding "meh". There are so many better games out there.

I have the original Star Wars Monopoly and now LOTR Monopoly. It's a lot more fun with House Rules. Especially if you pick an ending point for the game. IE: The game is over when the first player goes bankrupt. http://m.wikihow.com/Play-Monopoly-with-Alternate-Rules more house rules.
