Magic has one use for the D20 where as d&d has a multitude...i would know ive played magic for 4 years and d&d for 8 lol
Magic the Gathering is a card game if I'm not mistaken. Not sure how dice ever come into play.

They come into play because you need them for health points and sometimes how many of one monster you have, or even their health/defense

I've always used counters and tokens, but I could see how dice would serve well as counters.
