𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍                                        ‎

This blog is mainly for Torchwick109 as they requested help with a bowblade build. As the resident bowblade main I am very happy to help. If anyone else wants to use this build I would be honored. Without turning this post into a yap fest, here is my build, the "Freeshooter."

𖤓

Now I AM a ganker, so some things here will be more suited for the ganking life. I know that's not what you want, so I'll attach alternatives and tips [hopefully] more suited for what you're looking for.

𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐒                                                          ‎

  RACE

Wood Elf.

I have only ever played this build as a wood elf; honestly a slept on race. Their move speed ive is very helpful, as well as their increased penetration.

at the end of the day, race isn't a huge deal; play what you want. But another good choice to go would be Khajiit for the crit.

  Mundus Stone

The Lover.

The Lover is my FAVOURITE to use ever, I think it's perfect; I love having penetration on these types of builds. However, if for whatever reason you don't want to run The Lover, you can also use The Shadow or The Thief.

  Attributes

0 MAG ,, 34 HP ,, 30 STAM

This is completely up to you. If you want more damage, put more points into stamina, if you need mag, put some into mag. I prefer having at least 30k health, it's really the only thing that keeps us from dying all the time. I started this build with 64 points into stamina, and I was dying left and right. It comes down to personal preference and how open you plan to be on the battlefield.

  Food

Lava Foot Soup-And-Saltrice

Okay okay for good damage this is the food to go, the more stamina the better. I'm in generational eso debt and have been using those crown meals you get in daily rewards. Ngl I'VE BEEN JUST FINE USING THEM. You could also go Sugar Skulls if you want a boost to all your stats.

  Condition

Vampirism

I am a stage 4 vampire at all times. You do not have any health regen AT ALL. But I find the invisible run to 100% make up for that. I know you said you don't want to be a stealth archer, so this is up to you. You could also stay stage 3.

I am a one bar build so there is no room in my gear slots for a full monster set. But if you want to go two bars, Balorgh is definitely the way to go. I'd do heavy or medium helm, and medium shoulders. Finding a nice way to display the sets was hard so bear with me.

🗝 I run 1 piece balorgh for the weapon and spell damage. Any monster set that gives W&P damage or crit will do fine here.

𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒                                     ‎

My flex set is actually Tarnished. I run Defiler's if I'm trying to take out ball groups and such [I still much prefer Tarnished though].

If you choose not to use the poison morphs for the bow abilities then do not use Scavenging Demise! It requires Poison damage to proc and will be obsolete!!

🗝 Defiler's would be a good substitute for either set

🗝 Sheer Venom is also a very good and slept on set. It requires execute ability, which we have access to plenty of, thankfully.

🗝Shattered Fate is an amazing crafted set. It's 12 pieces, but we'll only be wearing 5. [5 pieces of this set grants 7918 offensive penetration]

From left to right, I run: Focused Aim [Lethal Arrow good too!], Poison Injection, Concealed Weapon, Merciless Resolve, Shadowy Disguise, Incapacitating Strike.

🗝I know you want to fit in some other abilities here, so I'm gonna get into substitutions real quick. My only self heal is merciless at melee range which.. isn't ideal for most players. LMAO

Focused Aim/Lethal Arrow is a must for bow, I love it soo much, it's great.

Poison Injection CAN be swapped for something like Healthy Offering. I don't do it because I like the execute and the poison damage.

Concealed Weapon is GREAT for movement speed and the damage isn't something to be slept on either, but I personally use this skill as my flex spot. Blood for Blood is great if you're a vampire. I've never used Siphoning Strikes before, but you could try to run it instead of Concealed if you want.

Merciless Resolve is something you wanted to run anyhow so we're leaving that one alone.

I KNOW you said you don't want to be a stealth archer but Shadowy Disguise IS SO GOOD, it's a Nightblade's saving grace half the time. I use it to slip out of shitty situations ALLL THE TIME. It's also good for repositioning yourself in large fights. To me, this ability is a must have!! I've got some crazy speed on my guy, but I still need this a lot of the time.

IFFF you really don't want to run it, then you could have Siphoning Strikes here and keep Concealed Weapon slotted. Really anything to increase your survivability because we lack resistance on this build.

Incapacitating Strike is my favourite ult to use. It's op, it procs Tarnished, it stuns... beautiful. But you're going a pure archer build, so you can slot the bow ultimate. I like it, it does crazy damage, but I find it's VERY easy to get away from. If you break line of sight with your target it cancels, which is why I stopped using it. [Go poison morph].

Soul Tether is good, especially when you're fighting multiple targets.

Green Tree

— Do what you want, I have Gifted Rider, Steed's Bessing, Rationer, and Treasure Hunter(?) For some reason.

Blue Tree

— Fighting Finesse, Master-At-Arms, Deadly Aim, Untamed Aggression.

🗝 All of these skills buff our Tarnished Nightmare set, as well as Merciless Resolve.

Red Tree

— Celerity, Refreshing Stride, Rejuvenation, Boundless Vitality.

🗝 A lot of this is personal preference. Refreshing Stride is great if you're going to be sprinting a lot. You gain 100 Mag and Health regen per stage, capping at 500.

🗝Celerity is must for speed. I have it on almost all my pvp builds.

🗝 Rejuvenation and Boundless Vitality are up to you; I like the regen and extra HP. Fortified is good too.

𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒                                         ‎

You will die a lot at first! This build is squishy but you will be hitting like a TRUCK. It's hard time get into at first but once you get the hang of it you'll be a monster.

You will be tbagged and hate whispered a lot. I've had someone's alt call me out in my Alliance's zone chat before. It's CRAZY how salty these people can be. I do also play only in Grey Host so it might be a campaign thing.

I use this build in BGs and have been just fine. (Pray you have a healer if you run my exact build, no substitutes). Purify synergy is your best friend 🫶🏼

Tweak anything you want to achieve what you're going for, you can use the skills and everything here as a reference if you want! Builds and pvp is meant to be fun, at the end of the day, do whatever the hell you want, yknow?

This build is awesome, and I'm really glad you took the time to help me out with this, I do have some questions though.

The first is about substitution sets, while waiting for the post I've done a temporary set-up in BG's using Balorgh (Heavy), Swamp Raider, Threads of War and Oakensoul, do you think any of these sets would also work as a substitute in this build?

The second is about skills. I do understand why Shadowy Disguise is a go-to skill for a lot of PvP builds, but have you tried Shadow Image? I've been running that recently and while the range is limited (Probably best used inside Keeps and BG's) sometimes teleporting out of a bad situation is more useful than cloaking and running because if you're unlucky people can still kill you before can get away. If you're considering testing this skill out I recommend switching it in right before ing a Keep raid or once you've seen if the BG arena you're in has some good spots to place a shade out of sight.

The other thing I wanted to talk about here is Healthy Offering. I've found the burst heal it provides incredibly helpful sometimes my health would be down to 8% then I would pop it and be back at 98% - 99% (This has happened a few times in BG's, but it is always the case in PvE where I have 10 points in the bule Quick Recovery). Plus with it being a skill that costs magic and my build being a Stamina build it's really reliable when I need to spam it for more health so it's worth considering over something like Resolving Vigor.

The third question is about . I've been considering adding Focused Mending in the blue tree as a little extra with healing, if I were to do this which skill do you think would be the best to replace for it? I don't mind going all in with damage but I want to see just how many options I can have with this build and how I could make it suit my needs.

Another slottable I've been looking at is in the red tree, Strategic Reserve. I've heard that this can be a huge life saver in some cases, especially if you're running Balorgh, you just save your ultimate for a big burst and reap the benefits of stupid high health recovery in the meantime.

And finally this isn't a question but yes, Celerity is amazing and probably one of my favourite slottables in the game. Put that on a Bosmer kitted out in mostly medium armour (Maybe include Jailbreaker for 24/7 Minor Expedition) and a bow for the dodge roll Major Expedition and nothing will catch you.

Thanks again for all of this, it is a huge help!

So I just had idea that might be a good 2 bar set-up for this build but I'm not super familiar with Scribing yet, I haven't gotten a class signature scrip and I haven't really interacted with the system overall. Have you considered putting a snare on Vault and using it as an escape skill?

I actually have used that one for fun!

It really sucks as an escape skill because the distance isn't that great :sob:

But it's sooo fun to just mess around with and the animation is top tier

I might try rescribing it with different Affix/Signature and see how it works

Let me know if you find something good, I think ensnaring enemies, turning tail and running away would just be funny
