Hi all!
I could've sworn I did an icebreaker ages ago, but there's nothing in my post history that suggests that, so here's my chance!

( 1. ) What Shall We Call You?
You can call me Oxbow! Ox for short, if you prefer. My pronouns are he/him.

( 2. ) What Introduced You To THG And When?
I first heard about it in second grade. My peers were talking about the movie, and I overheard a little here and there. I read the first book in fifth grade, second in middle school, and third last year. I read Ballad when it first came out, and I just picked up Sunrise. I believe my ninth birthday party was Hunger Games themed, so I've been involved in the fandom for a long time, even when I didn't really understand it like I do now.

( 3. ) What Do You Like About THG?
The most fascinating thing is definitely the worldbuilding. I've spent so much time thinking about Panem and the different districts. Its parallels to contemporary America and past authoritarian regimes make it relatable to so many people. However, I also love the characters! None of them are completely perfect or horrible. They all have their reasons for doing what they do.

( 4. ) Who Is Your Favorite Character?
This feels like a common answer, but I have to say my favorite is Katniss. She's loyal, determined, quirky and oftentimes hilarious whether she means to be or not. I also like Haymitch for the same reasons. They're so alike.

( 5. ) Who Is Your LEAST Favorite Character?
President Coin. She's hard to read, and I have little empathy for her because of the sacrifices she chooses to make. The Mockingjay movies make her a little better, but not enough to make her redeemable for me.

( 6. ) Favorite Book In The Series?
The first one! There are plenty of killer lines from Catching Fire, such as "There is no more District Twelve" (which I think about all the time), plus an excellent balance of emotion and action, but what keeps it from being my favorite is how many times "keep Peeta alive" is repeated. I think it was just unnecessary. The first is a great introduction to the world and takes its time mourning the deceased. I feel Mockingjay rushes the character deaths, so I couldn't connect to it as well.

( 7. ) Favourite Movie In The Series?
I think the best movie is Catching Fire, but my favorite is Mockingjay Part 1. I've been told that this is an unpopular opinion.

( 8. ) Favorite Song From THG / THG Soundtrack?
Definitely "Winter's Come And Gone" by Charles Wesley Godwin, from the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes soundtrack.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
( 9. ) What Is Your District?
Geographically, I live in District 12. My cultural background is closely tied to where I live, so I think this is where I'd identify anyway.

( 10. ) Anything Else You'd Like People To Know?
I'm a great Haymitch roleplayer. :eyes:

Totally agree that Mockingjay pt 1 is a lot better than people give credit for!
I will also 100% agree on the “great Haymitch roleplayer” part.
Aww, thank you! Hehe. :yellow_heart: :sparkles:
