How To Properly Credit

If poster failed to credit the artist within 48 or 72 hours, their post will be disabled. And any uncredited art will not be put on featured

And yes Cat did, and you should still use it, BUT- after using the amino app for a long time now, I noticed websites or links that many s use to credit.

Sources not to use/say

-pinterest

-Google/any type of search engine images

-zerochan

-fanpop

-we heart it

-any explicit website

-just some page on Facebook

-not crediting at all/saying you don't know who the artist is

-say it's on the drawing

Yes yes, we do know about the usual no Google images or pinterest, but not much people know that zerochan is literally the same. I went to the website before and most of the time there is little credit

Sources mostly good to use

-Twitter

-Tumblr

-devianart

-pixiv

knowing the artist's name is just as good enough, as long as you know their name it's optional to put in a website

But what if I can't find the artist even with reverse image search or have a difficult time trying?

Alright, that happens from time to time and I have a couple tips to try to narrow things down (hopefully).

-Here's the app for reverse image searching

-try multiple reverse image searches

-look at all the results of the reverse search.

- Have a close eye when checking who posted if they credit the artist

-Link to art help chat

-when wanting to expand reverse searching to your laptop or computer, save the art piece via Google drive and it in your files, when it's finished open files and use other reverse searches (I often do this so I can use Google image search)

-if you think that's the artist, check if the style is consistent and look through their work

-look for the artist's watermark

-ask an artist/someone if they know who it is

-sometimes this work, go to google and search up character name if you know who the character is, longshot but it does work

-look through tags on some art websites, longshot but also works

Any other suggestions will be added later on. As for editing on fanart, reverse searching will not do, so use other methods of trying to find it. If you have the art piece before it being edited, you can reverse search

Yams why is it very important to credit?

Besides me going to nag you guys into crediting and it's in the rules. Artists spent years trying to be the best artist they can be and have their work be recognized. Reposting without any credit isn't going to help them nor them. It even goes to the point where some artists will change their names or delete their since people just mindlessly repost without permission. So please, ask permission to an artist if you can repost their work or edit on it. Because sometimes there's some artist that specifically say DO NOT REPOST ARTWORK WITHOUT PERMISSION OR ON OTHER WEBSITES. So keep an eye on that

And yes you have to credit the background art when used as well.
