The Fresh Doom of Valyria

Okay... This took WAY too long to make and I'm not even really happy with the outcome, but I started it and at some point I just had to finish it. I would have never forgiven myself if I hadn't.

So to explain this weird start and weird type of post, you have to understand that my brain is veeery weird sometimes (okay, always...) and for a reason I don't understand either, the intro song to "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" started playing when I thought about what to write for this challenge (thanks brain...). For the younger people here, it's a sitcom from the early 90s, which kickstarted Will Smith's acting career. He also performed the theme song on which this cover is based.

So I started with the first lines and things just went mental from there. Anyway, give it up for MC Marwy Marw (aka Maester Marwyn) and his cover of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air":

Now this is the story all about how

Valyria got kickflipped upside down

So I'd like to take a minute while you're sitting right there

And tell you how the fuck Valyria was suspended in mid air

[Music]

On the large volcanoes, called Fourteen Flames

At the crater edge the mages spent most of their days

Creatin' spells, torturing slaves and all cool and all shootin some dragons at the magma pool

When a' something went wrong, the craters caved in,

killing all the mages and most of their kin

They made one small mistake and the city was doomed,

No one could've seen that happen any time soon

It roared and thundered - wave after wave

And all the Valyrians were sent to their grave

The sky did turn red, and then the ocean did too

Then all the buildings rose and were suspended in mid air

I'm like, yo this is bad

Using glass candles to look at all this death

Is this what the doom of Valyria looked like?

Hmmm... This might be disliked!

'Cause here, I know they're fussy

"Magic - it's not real"

This is not the type of place that would just accept all that

I don't think so, I'll see when I get there,

I hope they're unbiased with the knowledge I share!

The door opened and when I saw them,

There were some dudes standing there all ready to condemn

I ain't trying to get expelled yet, I just got here!

I sprang with the quickness like lightning disappeared

I escaped to my room an when I came near,

The candles were still burning and all became clear

This Citadel I'm at is ignorant as hell,

but I thought, "Ah forget it, they'll soon regret it!"

[Music]

I pulled up to the candles about seven more times and I yelled to myself "Yo man, this is great!"

Looked at my hand, I was finally there,

Valyria suspended right in mid air!

Well, that's my entry to the second #InValyria and I have to say the middle part almost physically hurts me. I'm pretty happy with the beginning and the ending but that middle part is just awful. But oh well, this is only day two of a 30 day challenge, so still 28 more days to go!

I hope you could enjoy at least part of this, even though it made no sense at all... See you in the next one!
