The truck that Robotnik used in the first movie as his base of operations as seen here

is the same truck used for Galvatrons alt mode. No, I don't mean the same model. No, i mean the exact same truck. It was reused since the truck wasn't used extensively in Age of Extinction

Slight changes were made to accommodate the AI eye on board the truck as well as a slight colour change, but yes. Galvatron was in fact in the first Sonic movie.
