Let's get into the WIP that is the rulers of the kingdoms, shall we?
It's undecided whether the rulers will all be monsters or if some will be human, but they are all based off of the boss monsters we have grown to know and love
The red kingdom is a tough one, but I believe that Toriel would be an interesting choice. Sure, this would mean that the journey starts with Toriel, as always, but I just like the idea of her wearing a color other than purple. She would definitely be a just ruler in my opinion and is the least likely to instigate a war on other kingdoms if everything were to go south. Her kingdom would have that sort of warm, welcome feeling to it as if coming home after a long day
The orange kingdom is also very tough. If I were to stick to my original plans, Alphys would've inherited the throne, only to build Mettaton to rule in her stead. This would've caused the orange kingdom to turn yellow. If I were to remain with the seven kingdom idea instead of the original six, I suppose this would have to be Asgore as he's the main character I have been fully undecided on in of kingdom placement for the seven kingdoms. It would be interesting to see an orange design for Asgore
The yellow kingdom will belong to Alphys, but be ruled by Mettaton. This is because Alphys, while having the knowledge needed to run a kingdom, would see herself as someone that isn't the best for being the face of the kingdom, so she builds Mettaton to have the charisma and looks that she feels she lacks to give her kingdom a brighter outlook on life. As stated previously, this would've originally been the orange kingdom if I remain with the six kingdoms idea
The green kingdom is ruled by Undyne. She's the one that's the most likely to instigate war, but only against kingdoms that she knows would be able to handle it. She would never attack a kingdom that cannot defend against her army and would actually be likely to protect said kingdom instead, whether they're allied or not. She was the often the main to protect the original united kingdom, leading to multiple scars having been accumulated over the years
The cyan and blue kingdoms are technically one kingdom split into two. Sans rules the cyan half while Papyrus rules the blue half. They had decided that there wasn't enough resources within the land they had chosen to live in for two separate kingdoms, so they merged while still keeping their own separate halves. Papyrus often handles the more active jobs between the two kingdoms, whether it be helping to rebuild something or simply ensuring that their defenses are constantly up to date, while Sans handles the more social jobs and determines whether to ally someone or not
The purple kingdom, if there's seven kingdoms, would actually belong to Muffet. I know she's more of a miniboss in Undertale in the sense that you can end the fight early or even skip it entirely if you buy something when you see her table, but she's also capable of changing your soul color just like a handful of the other bosses, so I think she counts. The people of her kingdom would most certainly be well-fed and there'd never be a shortage of food or money. As for how she had managed to get so much money? Don't question it
Alternatively, if there are six kingdoms, Asgore would actually rule the purple kingdom due to Alphys already having been technically assigned to the orange kingdom in the six kingdoms layout
I have ittedly been very back and forth on all of this
There may be a part four. Unsure currently
