Smarter than you think..

Hey guys! After a short hiatus, I'm ready to get back into things. I have just finished finals, which I'm thankful for cause they caused me so much dang stress. My birthday was yesterday- I did three finals that day. So turning a year older wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Anyway!! Here's a piece of work I shared first to another amino so a few of you might've read it already but a lot of you have not. Please enjoy and DO NOT comment hate. This is my view on Undertale Papyrus. That he knows more than he lets on. Oh, let me know if you want more.

Have you ever had the feeling... nothing was really real? Erh... well, I mean it looked and felt real but- it wasn't. Like- you would wake up at any moment from a dream?

I have a few times. It's rather odd. Usually, I forget the dreams a couple moments or so after having them. Yet- one time. It didn't go away. Everything around me felt- different as I went through it all in my mind. The books on my shelves, the door to my room, the bed I was laying in. It made me feel uncomfortable but I forced myself to push the feeling aside as I sat up. Today was going to be a great day.

Right..??

After getting ready and pushing my brother out the door, I walked through the snow, chatting with him to the time. I told him nothing of the dream. He would just worry and besides, maybe it was all just that- a dream. Instead, I told him about how great of a day today was going to be. Something he would like to hear most likely. Especially coming from me.

I left him at his station, knowing he would most likely be ed out by the time I returned later to check on him. Now, I was alone to think. Continuing the walk to my own station, I looked around. The place was peaceful and I enjoyed that. Yeah, company was great but this was also nice.

Upon getting to my station, I sat and for once, did nothing. My thoughts were still occupied by the same thing and for once, it wasn't on my work. It was unusual.

I laid down and looked up at what would be the sky if we weren't underground. The sky. I have a feeling I've seen it before yet- it's faint.

I must've actually dozed off with that thought because next thing I knew, I heard footsteps nearing me in the snow. I sat up, glancing around. Did I- did I really fall asleep in the snow while I was supposed to be awake?! Hopefully it wasn't my brother. He wouldn't let me hear the end of his stupid ridiculous pu-

There was dead silence as I met the gaze of a human child. They seemed surprised for some reason, as if not having expected to find me there like that. For a few moments, neither of us spoke. Why was it- that human was familiar?

Shoving aside my uneasy feeling, I stood and broke out into a half hearted speech on what was going to happen from that point on. I was going to capture them and then bring them to-

A sudden sneeze stopped my speech. I paused, looking down at the human. They weren't shivering and didn't appear cold. Was it me? It couldn't have been. Another sneeze cut through the silence. Oh no.

The human said nothing. They seemed to be the silent sort. Unless.. were all humans silent like this one? Then, ran off in the direction they had come from. Well, that went peachy, I thought to myself with a sigh. I can't believe I had actually messed up. Fallen asleep in the snow and gotten sick.

A minute ed before my brother appeared. He was oddly with the human. Wait. Had he found them before me?! Or- maybe the human had found them..

"Hey bro. You look chilled to-" He started but stopped when he heard me sneeze again. "You've been out here a while. How about we go put the human in the shed and head home"

The human nodded, seeming to just- be fine with going along with the idea. It was this easy? I smiled, despite the cold. Maybe today was going to be a good day after all. Even if it meant having to stay in bed for a while. Yet- that dream I had. It still lingered in my mind. What did it mean? It had felt so real. Had it been real? Did it have something to do with the faint vision of the sky?
