We’ve been seeing some inappropriate behaviour and infringement of the community rules to no extent for a while now, and we are doing all that we can to prevent this. This blog will be for the purpose of explaining all our community rules, why they are there and how YOU can make a difference!

To all s of this Amino, I urge you to read this and help us make Undertale Amino different from the other communities; we want to refocus both our vision and Toby Fox’s to restore this Amino to something we can all be proud of! Thank you.

Extra Words

Off Topic

As most s well know, off topic blogs and chats are strictly prohibited in this community. This means no Gravity Falls, rant or suicide posts or chats will be tolerated. We try to keep the community relevant to Undertale as best we can so as to not allow it to turn into a Gravity Falls Amino. Clearing up a few specifics, blogs that are for the purpose of communicating with your followers are allowed as well as constructive criticism to the community. This means that s stay respectful and not try to start a community war.

As a confirmation of your understanding, I’ll leave you with these definitions.

Rant- A spell of ranting; a tirade.

Constructive Criticism- The process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. The purpose of 'constructive criticism is to improve the outcome.

As such, please keep rants in your PMs.

Chats

Irrelevant, inappropriate and disrespectful chats are prohibited in our community. This means any chats labelled as “sex,” “porn,” “yaoi,” “sin,” or anything along those lines will be considered inappropriate. This includes chats labelled “18+.” Similarly, we want our chat feeds to stay clean and relevant to our community. As such, we do not allow high school RPs OR chats that are not titled properly. s are asked to name their titles something related to Undertale. Meaning we won’t disable chats labelled “Underhigh RP” rather than “High school RP.” Rant chats are in the same category, and I suggest you refer to the above paragraph in “Off Topic” to know where to display them.

As s, we also discourage and WILL disable chats that are shown to have no rules in the description. The reason why we disable chats that may prove to be harmless (such as high school RPs that are meant to be Undertale related or an 18+ chat that is meant to just be a harmless conversation) is because the chat could spiral out of control if given a misleading name or chat description, and we cannot take that chance. It also promotes similar behaviour with other s to feel justified in doing the same.

Spam

This is luckily not a common problem in the community, but I still implore s to stop spamming other chats. This is considered a form of trolling and it is extremely disrespectful to chat owners and bloggers. This means ALL s, including people attempting to close an inappropriate chat; please report it and leave it to the s.

Art Theft

I am sure s know the frustrations and justifications of banned art theft. It’s saddening when an artist or blogger logs on to find their work stolen; please do not resort to such an incredible low.

Similarly, I want to address artists and bloggers by asking them to please report these people calmly and let us handle them.

Bullying

Obviously disrespectful, racist or damaging attitudes are a clear violation of our rules. We strive to have a harmonious community and grieve whenever we have to resort to banning s due to their incompetence of the rules. Cyber bullying is a large concern in our community, and we urge s to immediately report other s that are verbally abusing you as well as block them.

Reporting

Before you guys decide to skip this category, I must insist that you read on. Our team has seen unneeded and destructive behaviour from reporters that we’d like to clear up. When reporting someone, do NOT harass, spam or deliver hate to the going against the guidelines and instead report them calmly without engaging. If you have been spamming, insulting, attacking and/or threatening these people, you are too in the wrong. s will be handing out auto strikes to people who inappropriately attack a , even if it is a in the wrong. We aim to protect EVERYONE from harm in our community.

What is reporting?

When you see a piece of content that goes against the community rules, you would flag (or report) this content. You can generally find the flag option in the top right corner, with the button labelled “...”

When opening the report window, it will prompt the to pick one of the several categories; Off Topic, Bullying, Spam or Other. And it will give a text bubble to explain the situation. s are asked not to leave the text block blank when they have selected “Other.”

How do you properly report someone?

First of all, s know that they can report almost every piece of content a sends including chats, posts, comments, s and chat bubbles. When the s go through the report box, they get transferred to the piece of content you reported, meaning if you reported an for spamming rather than the chat bubble itself, we will have no evidence of this accusation and will therefore skip it. This is a reminder to please report the proper content. Don’t know how to report? No problem.

If you would like to report a chat bubble, tap and hold the bubble you wish to report and tap “other,” where you’ll then find the option to report the speech bubble. When reporting, the appropriate situations to flag a speech bubble would be spam, bullying and occasionally art theft. Please do not flag a bubble for it being off topic, for then we’d be removing everyone’s speech bubbles xD

When s report a speech bubble, s can view the bubble and a link to the chat where the speech was sent so as to glean the proper situations.

If you wish to report a chat, simply tap the top right corner to be taken to the chat description. Tap “...” which you can find in the top right corner once again, and find the option to “report this chat.” When reporting a chat, the appropriate justifications to flag them for are generally other (sexually explicit content) or off topic.

When s report a chat, s can view the entire conversation and s in them like a community member would.

When reporting a post, tap the top right corner (“...”) and proceed to tap “report this blog.” s can flag posts for a variety of reasons including Other (hate or rant), Off Topic, Bullying or Other (art theft).

In the report box, the s can view the blog itself, which is pretty self explanatory.

Lastly, when reporting a comment, just tap it and proceed to tap the “flag comment” in red font. Comments can be flagged for spam, off topic or Other.

Much like the chat bubbles, s can view the comment alone and are given an option to view the entirety of the blog.

What does reporting do?

Most s do not know what goes on behind the scenes, for which I will gladly tell you. When a piece of content is reported, we try to analyse and act upon the situation as best we can. If we decide the content is to be disabled, s will get a message telling them why and what they can do to prevent it from happening again.

s are reminded to NOT create posts attacking s or giving long rants and report them silently instead. Thank you.

Anti Sin Groups

Unfortunately the heart of the problem of negative behaviour towards the s infringing upon the community guidelines is sin groups. We have found most groups don’t insert it in their directives to actually report the content, but instead deal with it themselves by putting themselves in a place of “power,” aka spamming or attacking people until they remove the content. This is unacceptable, as it is causing more destruction in our community and therefore I am now announcing that all sin groups from here on may be considered disbanded. This includes AATS. If you want to help the community, than please report s privately like a normal community member would. If s still see groups open, they are asked to report it. Thank you.

Hate and Opinions

A growing problem is most definitely hate and a lack of understanding in the definition of opinion. We do not want people attacking s in vain for opinionated reasons and we ask that you stay respectful. This is a problem with a very simple answer, and I apologize that I have to explain this stuff.

s and Curators

Getting into a different mindset, this section of the blog will be an explanation of the differences and similarities of s and curators as well as our policies when dealing with specific situations. This is for s to gain a good understanding of what we can do and what we are here for.

Ever since the new Amino update, curators have received new powers and Leaders came into existence.

Curators can disable posts, disable chats, disable chat bubbles, delete comments, hide profiles, hand out strikes and of course feature posts.

s have all the powers of a curator and they can ban s as well as pin posts and access the report box, where s’ filed reports go to.

What is the strike system?

The strike cycle is a system designed to hand out punishments and avoid banning people as best as possible. When s access the report box, the system will keep track of how many strikes a has received. The first strike disables the ’s ability of posting or chatting for 24 hours. The second strike will disable you for 48 hours and the third strike will automatically ban you.

Additionally, there is an option to permanently hide a profile, disabling the ’s ability to post.

What are our policies?

In most minor situations (such as off topic content, minor cases of bullying, art theft, spam, etc.), it will result in the getting a warning. If we see them do it again, we will hand them a strike and, if it happens again, we ban them. We do not use our second strike in most situations, instead downgrading to a warning.

Major situations (such as mass bullying, inappropriate behaviour, etc.) will result in the s immediately striked. Porn, however, will get an instant ban, as we treat the maturity of this community seriously.

In some cases, bullies can be given an instant ban if s have asked them to stop and they contribute no positive cause to the community, as s should not just look out for s to give them a slap on the wrist.

We DO NOT unban any s in almost any circumstance. Unless you have been banned as a mistake (it can happen), the ban will not be released. Make a new and don’t disobey the community guidelines. If a has created quite a bit of s that got banned for their different reasons, we will flag them for Team Amino to look over. This means they can ban a from all Amino applications if they feel it is necessary.

Other; Suicidal s

We have come across our fair share of suicidal s. People must understand that s and curators are not councillors, and we cannot speak to a stranger and get an effective answer. The best thing s can do is direct them to a suicidal hotline or, if you feel like you are close to them, speak with them as best you can. We highly suggest you direct them to a hotline in all situations.

Other; I see other s breaking the rules. Why can’t I do it?

s have come across many s who mention that they see many irrelevant chats and rant blogs, asking why they can’t do it when we go to disable their content. You see, that is the type of thinking that is spreading in our community and making the problem bigger, because more people actually ask this question than you think. Please, s, understand when we disable these types of things, we are doing it for a reason.

Last Words

So, in conclusion, I want to mention a few changes we’re making to Undertale Amino.

For one, we want your consistently on our moderation and curation team! It is important to us that you feel we are approachable people to in a Time of need, and we apologize as a team for any trouble we may have caused. Our team is learning the ropes of being leaders and we’re constantly tested by being put in the crossfire. We are human beings and make mistakes, so we ask that you express any improvements or suggestions the Team should make respectfully and devoid of swearing [here|http://aminoapps/p/rwbr9e]. Thank you.

Additionally, we are making the Justice Squad our hub so s can access all community information here and become more accustomed to our team.

For s who have not read this blog, please do so, as we want to steer this community in the right direction; we need your help!

In conclusion, our team loves working with our community and we want to do all we can to better improve it. If you have any questions, direct them to the comments here while this blog is still pinned. I also have a question for you guys before I sign off;

What can we do to better this community?

And with that, I bid the souls farewell. Thank you for reading and, as usual,

Peacue~
